Angry A/C smells like urine

I cannot believe i'm experiencing this smell again through the grand am. It happened in the alero I had and now it's happening in the grand am. When I first turn on the A/C, I get a urine-like smell out of the vents. Did someone **** on my hood and it leaked into the windshield air intake? I mean WTF??? This seems like another flaw with these cars. From one problem to the next. I give up!!!

Are you sure it's the A/C on when the **** smell is there, or is it just the regular fan blowing?

Hey, i just realized you have an 02. If it is warranty, why don't you let the dealer deal with it?

Also, if the smell only occurs at first, that could very well just be stagnant air that's been sitting around for a while. Your new car smell is probably starting to wear out (and it used to overpower stagnant air stench) but now the stagnant air smell is setting in. That's my guess at least.

Yeah, you're right. Your dealer or service guy or whomever did your oil change probably took a quick **** in your A/C equipment.

Well, this just started happening yesterday. So I posted here to see if others had this same problem. When the car goes in to get the windows replaced (windows scrathing), i'll let them know of this problem.

Have you had a lot of rain lately? It's possible that it is mildew.

Panacea's probably correct.

I had a similar problem with my Integra and with my '87 Nova before that. I found if I turned the air conditioning off and left the fan running for a minute before turning off the car that it would dry the system out, and the mildewy smell wouldn't come through the next time I started the car.

Well my pee smells different from time to time..One day it smells like blueberrys, the next it smells like whiskey... Besides, everyones smell differs, and Vint, may associate the smell w/pee. Who knows. I'm sticking with mildew.
