SE - GT Conversion, Custom Mods

Here's a few pictures of my car. It is an Auburn Mist Metallic 1999 Grand Am SE. This color was only available on 1999 Grand Am SE's and Aleros.

It has a full GT bodykit conversion.

Perfromance mods so far are a K&N drop in, Granatelli MAF sensor, and Borla exhaust. I have a 62 mm TB, but it's not installed. Future plans include headwork and port matching. It's booked for next summer.

Suspension mods include Next Level Sway BArs and Strut tower braces.

MY interior. Notice my guage pod, painted interior pieces, and the door sill.

Thanks for the comments. I love hearing them.

I made the sills myself with the help of a couple contacts I have in my city. I took a strait piece of stainless steel and used a machine to bend them. Then someone I know who does laser etching scanned and burned the Pontiac logo into them

Well's probably safe to say you'd have the only GT in that color now...kinda. Good work man.

now all u need is 5 star alloys or chrometech, gt tails, electrical tape or vinyl over the chrome trim on the doors and windows, and a speedometer that shows 150mph. jk/bud, it does look great.

hows it feel to be the only gt look alike in that color. i could just imagine someone on the street checkin your car out saying they want a gt like that, going to the dealership for them to say they dont make gt's in that color.

The sills cost me about $40 Canadian for parts and slipping buddies a little something for helping me out.

I actually went to the dealer to get some parts and when I came out there was a bunch of dealership staff standing around my car. They were all like WTF, GT's don't come in these colors. Then they were asking about my guages and exhaust. It was pretty cool.

I was thinking of getting rims and if I do, they are gonna be the rims that TO2FST has. I love those rims. For now, I'm just gonna lower it. I still like my stock SE rims. Same with the tails.

Wow...great work That has got to be one of the most unique things I've seen, and that color's hard as ever.

I would LOVE to paint my pannels..but I'm a lil' afraid of the work it'll take. Can't have me messin' up my baby..

Pricewise for the conversion was about $1000 US. That includes body parts, paint, black mouldings, new fender liners, and other micellaneous parts. Then if you start adding the Borla exhuast and suspension parts it starts to hurt.

My interior was painted by a friend who is a painter. I tried to get a spray bomb made to match my color, but it can only be applyed base coat/clear coat and spray bombs are only available in enamel. I gave him a few bucks for helping me cause he had to do them at his work in a paint booth. One of the other painters is an ******* and was giving him a hard time. It was the least I could do for him taking crap for me.
