What kind of noise are you talking about? I have a squeak that the dealer said was from my tires. Whether I believe them or not I couldn't say Stupid RSA's... Lemme know how your Dunlops turn out since I think I'm going to be getting them for my car in Oct. for my b-day Only thing though is I'm goign to wait until my other tires are running down before I put them on so I might have them for 6 months before they get on... hard saying though...

Yeah the squeak that the dealer says is the tire and the rim rubbing together and is not covered under waranty squeak. I got the Dunlop's for $387 total shipped and my friend works at Pep Boys so he is mounting and balancing them for free. I will let you know how good they are.

Yes, my stock RSA's make noise. I guess I shouldn't complain as I still have decent tread and 52,000 miles on them.

Yeah I wanna see the bald tires again The bad things is that my B-day's in October and I have about 28-29k on my tires now. There's a good amount of tread left and I have a feeling I could wait till about 36,000 miles (roughly 8-12 months from now). So, should I get them for my B-day since I wouldn't pay for them or should I get something else?

The Dunlops don't make any noises at low speeds. On the highway they make a deep sound.

Deep sound? What do you mean? Is it annoying? Also, how's the walls on the dunlops? Are they stiffer than the RSA's? They don't bulge out much on the RSA's but I'd like a Stiffer one if possible cause I don't like it looking like I've got low pressure in my tires

The outside wall on the Dunlop is alot larger than the RSA's . People often will ask if my rims are 17" . Before with the RSA's I had a few people say they looked like 15"
The highway noise isn't bad, just different. I turned the radio down a few times to listen.

I have Yokohama YK420's and absolutely no noise (except the poor all-season tire squealing like a pig under intense cornering ) They are 17's but pretty tall 235/55/17 I think (I know, monster truck tires, but they were cheap.) Just thought I'd chime in. I would reccomend them to anyone needing a snow-capable cheap tire. Don't expect a g-monster, though.

Angry Noisy Tires

I just had my 2000 GT in for service and complained of the same noise. I really notice the noise at low speeds, below 40 km/h, with all the windows up. The dealer said the problem is the thin ribbed band on the tire (Goodyear RSA) just above the rim. They claimed that the noise is from this band rubbing on the rims.

The dealer's solution was to pump up the tires to 40 psi , claiming that the tires are good up to 44 psi. GM, however, states that the tires should only be inflated to 30 psi for proper handling and ride.

The noise is still present at 40 psi and the ride is awful. I'm knocking my tire pressure back down to the low 30's. Has anybody had any luck with the issue despite changing all four tires.

The 30psi is just a general pressure. At that pressure you're get a softer ride, better gas milage, and more life out of your tires. 40psi won't hurt and of course the ride will be a lot more bumpy becasue the tires are stiffer. You must have never ridden in a sports car huh? Hehe

I miss my S10 Extreme for handling. I had C5 Vette rims on it. 17s on the front and 18s on the back. 35 series tires....ohhh baby. I could take 35mph offramps at 75 no problem...except for darn traffic . I loved throwing that little truck into four wheel slides like the Nissan commercials
