Posting Pictures

I'm not be the brightest bulb on the tree so please be nice...

How can I post pictures on the forum?

Don't feel too bad....I have been here for years and years and still can't

There is the "attach image" button at the bottom but when you do that other viewers have to click the image to open it.....

You have to be logged on to view pictures.

then how do some people get the pictures to show up without you having to click and open the image?

Once an image is on a web page, it is considered hosted. Once a photo is "hosted" is recieves a link that designates that picture to that web site. If you right click, and go to properties, on any picture on a web page, you will see a URL. This basically is a map. If you copy the URL, and post it in your message box in between "IMG boxes", then you are telling your message to find the picture that the URL designates.

If you have a pic you would like to put on the site, you use the Attach File below. Once you are complete, and your message is posted, you can click the link in your post, and it will open in another page. Right click on your pic, and there is your URL! Just copy that, and edit your post using directions in paragragh one. I hope this helps, and I didn't confuse the **** outta you! Good Luck!

Can you post pictures if they are not hosted? Like I have them saved on a disc. Can I post them from that?

They have to be "attched" to your post AND within the file size limit. If I had attached an image lately, I could tell, you, but I have my own webspace, so I have no need to attach...sorry...

when you click on "post reply"

Theres a button at the bottom that says browse, click that and find the pic on you , Cd, hard drive what ever. It does have to be small enough though. Your problem might be the pictures need to be resized.....

As for putting a picture up w.o clicking on it, attach the image, then click on it when your post pops up, copy whats in the address bar, then go edit your post, then click the IMG button, delete the http thats in there, and paste what you had copied into there, and you picture will pop up automaticly w.o having to clcik

it is file size, not physical size....
