The turn signal is actually at the small end of the headlight.

The part that was covered is the side marker light. The marker light bulb goes off when the turn signal turns on.

I have seen some people cut a small circle in the vinyl to skirt the legal issue.

IMO, i don't really like how that looks...if the purpose of the vinyl is to cover the amber, then why cut a little circle? just don't think it looks good.

I'm pretty sure you can still see the turn signal thru the vinyl at night.

There's no bulb in hers so it looks the same day or night.

Seth...is there a way to get the side blinker to only blink when signalling and not stay on while driving

all you'd have to do is keep the ground and then cut the power(cap of the side coming from the car) and then go to your inner turn signals. Find the wire that gets hot when you turn on your turn signals and splice a wire off that and run that wire over to your side turnsignals.
