Thumbs up Drive it like you stole it? SRT10 (old news)

http://www.dodge.com/srt/index.html

How dare they speak my language.

Two-seats, V-10 engine, 90 degree V-type 8.3 liter (505 cubic inch)
Horsepower: 500 bhp (372 kW) @ 5,600 rpm
Torque: 525 lb.-ft. (678 Nom)@ 4,200 rpm

Manual, six-speed transmission with Hurst shifter mechanism and linkage

Wheelbase: 120.5
Box Length: 6'3"
Track, Front: 68.5
Track, Rear: 67.9
Overall Length: 203.1
Overall Width: 79.9
Overall Height: 74.4
Fuel Tank Capacity: 26 gal
Curb Weight (estimated): 5,000 lbs.

Tires: Pirelli Scorpion Zero 305/40 YR 22
Wheels: Forged aluminium "Viper-style" 22 x 10 inch

Performance (estimated)0-60 mph 5.2 sec.; 0-80 mph 8.4 sec.
Standing quarter mile 13.8 sec. @106 mph
Top Speed 150 mph

Have never heard aftermarket exhaust on a V10?

My first hand experience was that it startled the hell out of me... partly because I didn't expect the driver of the Viper that I was giving the thumbs up to to throw hard revs. It sounded like violence itself.

It's a truck. Not many trucks run.. 14.8 in the 1/4, and your GA was no where near stock to do that, imagine doing the same thing to this V10 as you did to your Grand Am!!!

Not to mention that Lightnings are almost at that point stock and easily go past that point.

At least Dodge has something to compete with the Lightning.

It's cool, but I'd rather a Lightning or F-350 Super Duty.

I still find Lightnings more sttractive. I've never been a fan of the v10. True with the right exhaust it sounds like violence, but then again, a v8 with the right exhaust can sound like World War 3 is starting.

Anyway, I think the Silverado SS regular cab with the 6.0L (I assume if made it would get the 6.0L LS2), 4000 lbs, 400 hp 400 ft-lbs and the 6 speed would smack the Lightning and Dodge. I wish GM would make that. It looked so freakin mean compared to either of those trucks really.

Back in the day Chevy started this **** with the 454 SS and now they're completely outmatched, that kinda sucks. Would be funny if they cammed out that 8.0L engine, raised the redline and did some things to extract more power, along the lines of 550 hp or so. Dreaming sure is fun. How about a 572 BBC with about 700 ponies?

Don't forget Syclone & Typhoon.

I agree I am sick of GM not dominating the performance world in nearly every category of vehicle as usual.

BTW they should go north of 400/400 on the aSilverado. They need to SMASH the competition not just edge it out slightly. Put that 8.2 liter V8 in there with a blower or something.

Have you ever heard a V10 with exhaust? I have heard a million diferent V8's... NOTHING sounds like a V10. You owe it to yourself to hear one, a loud one. It's a unique sound, does not sound like a V12 or a V8... Yes I am a bigger fan of V8's but.. you gotta hear a V10, trust me.

That was underestimated marketing numbers.
2 magazines have run 13.1s now. Many of us
are expecting to see high 12s once the trucks
start getting into real world drag racers hands.

MotorTrend and Sport Truck both got 13.1s.
