I have always used a high temp ceramic engine paint. You can get it at AutoZone or Advance Auto Parts. Works great and it's like $2 a can.

Yeah I was thinking about that thanks. Its just I hate to spend $45 on that little bit. Is it a lot higher quality than the $2 can of engine paint?

Nice ride man!

I got my caliper paint from pfyc...I think it's worth the money. It's been on my car now for about 6-7 months now and haven't had a problem....no fading, no chipping, no need to repaint!

thanks jay

does anyone have pics of the cheap engine paint on their car?
If theirs a huge difference I'll go with pfyc but otherwise I might as well use my money on preformance mods.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but those caliper kits come with directions and stuff to mask off parts, correct?

I bought the $2-$4 can of high temp. paint at Pep Boys, and it works fine. Not sure the difference in paint quality is worth the difference in price. My .02.

Def stick with High Temp paint. It won't fade or flake if you prep the surface correctly (i.e. get rid of surface rust). This stuff is meant to take heat....hence high temp (like engine blocks and such).

I'm doing mine in the spring when it gets warmer.

Dude, just go and buy the engine paint from autozone. it's the same stuff as the PFYC paint. If your concerned about the paint coming off its all about the PREP JOB that you do. Heck, if you wanted to get lazy you could even get the paint from autozone and spray the paint into a bowl. then once it in the bowl get a model painting brush and paint it on that way. That's what I'm going to do next time. I don't want to waste my time masking shiznit off for like 3 hours.

Got this at kragan yesterday. I forgot to get brake parts cleaner (for the prep) though. What kind is the best?

edit: it looks like I only have 3 fingers.

thats the paint i bought, worked great. something else i did was bought high temp gloss to really make it shine. looked great. then winter hit, my car go toed into a gravel lot, and well, still looks pretty nice. definitely doin it again in the summer. im also thinking about the 3400 under the hood.
