Ultimate Sleeper.

1996-1997 Kia Sephia LS/GS

Why do you ask?

The Kia Sephia arrived in 1994 using the 1990-94 Mazda Protege platform underneath with a Lotus returned suspension. That was the good part. The bad part was the anemic 88 hp four. Kia fixed that in 1996 by dropping the engine and transmission from the Mazda Miata directly into the Sephia. This means that any aftermarket engine mods that fit a '96 Miata will also fit here. Best of all are the prices: a good GS can be had for $1500.

neato huh?

That's just as sleeper as a 1998 or older Hyundai Elantra. There are many people running those with 4G63T engines. You know... Mitsu used to own Hyundai.

Pretty sure, you can always pop the hood and see what engine is in other years though.

OMG i dont belive i actually read this thread ... its a KIA, its like when we race the SRT-4 club, its a neon! I believe that its not just how fast your car is, but how many girls are gonna be like blingbling Kia or blingbling GAGT? When i had my 99 gagt everyone loved it .... too bad i sold it for a TA ... if i knew the SC was coming out for it i would of kept it... oh and that body kit was sweet too ... oh well, the ws6 was better in the long run until I test drove a wrx ... AWD makes all the difference. Nothing like drifting in a parking lot to cause excessive smiling.

That's why you buy it as a beater. But smoking other cars with this car will be priceless.

Sleepers have to be somewhat cool to begin with. Something like an Eclipse that's bone-stock on the exterior but that has retarded amounts of money into the engine/suspension.

I love when people say it's a Kia, Hyundai, Daewoo, Neon at the end of the day, some bull**** like that. It's funny that the only people that say Korean cars are ****ty are the ones that have never owned one. And there are couple members here that have been happy with them. It's nice to have a sleeper like this just because there are so many people that stereotype.
