Some new pics and SC/T rocker panel damage

Nothin really too interesting, but I got the chance to clean the car today for once. Found some disturbing new damage on the passenger side rocker. It looks small but its enough to bother me and have it completely repainted. Also I took some pics of the engine bay all cleaned up, interior. It was some warm weather, but I had so much to do I didn't take much time to take too many pictures.

Tank ya! I know its not -bad- but frankly a $500 paint job, and all they did was "scuff the paint", they didn't even properly prep it. Apparently my dad got a new job at a Lincoln/Mercury dealer so i'm going to take it there and see what I can do about gettin the front end, and rear sc/t and sides repainted. The front chin spoiler will get scratched one way or another.

Non-sense just get osme of that touch up paint. It rocks. LoL Naa that does suck to have to repaint it. Just be lucky you dont have a giant door ding in the rear drivers side door. As always though the car looks awesome.

If that paint chip is in the door jam, (passenger side i think), it looks like it is a result of the door rubbing when opened and shut. Could that be a possible cause? Maybe the panel is not in the best position?? I dunno if this is so but just thought that I'd bring it up. Id try touch up paint on those thin scrapes, unless you can get painted for free.

I guess I shoulda taken the pictures from a different angle. Those arn't scrapes, the paint actually flaked off and is flaking off. From another angle, the paint still has edges that are flaking off. It'd take aLOT of touch up paint and would look incredibly tacky.

And yes, the rubbing is a possibility of it because both sides of the car, at one point or another has made rubbing sounds, and a lil wd-40 greased up the corners for less friction. But, i've had paint chips in my passenger side rocker before I even put it on my car. And it coincidentally is the most problematic piece of the kit (atleast, my sc/t kit). Either way, some dealership TLC is in line as soon as the weather gets into the 60's.

Thanks Pat! Yeah a ding would really suck. Where I work, our store is sorta downhill in the parking lot of Home Depot, so I ask my manager if she'll park next to me (towards Homedepot) so the huge orange carts don't come barraling into my car. I'd absolutely cry if one of those hit my car......then i'd hit it again and attempt my hardest to bend the frame and get me a new car ( jk). Doesn't that first front shot look like a person with their arms open saying "Thanks for washing me!" hehe, no? Okay sorry maybe its the exhaust fumes i've been smelling after I just got done installing my soaked CAI (recharged the filter and soaked the **** out of the filter on accident, 3 hours later, it should be fine)

Exactly Bob. I'm not sure wether to put my foot up the shop owner's ass or just put it behind me and get it done professionally.

Hmm...really? If this dealership is gonna cost me too much, then we'll see.

And AndyVTek, the shop I went to in the first place, is a place I am real close with, they're family friends. But they fcked me over I guess. Live and learn.

I'd go bitch them out. No matter if it was a cheaper place, you payed your hard earned moeny and they should fix it for you. That is WAY to bad for my taste. If it's not perfect, it's not good enough.

Hehe verrrrry funny Erika. Your hood was painted at a dealership and its flaking? That sucks! Mine has a few lil tiny ass chips in it, but no flaking.

Mike you don't have any kind of warranty on that paint job ??

Rob got his painted at the same dealer body shop I used.. 500ish out the door for 2 tone w/ life time warranty on the paint job like flaking, etc..... I'd go back, you got jipped.
