doesnt the 3.5 altima already have 245hp. if it is supercharged, 260-280 doesnt seem like its that much compared to the stock v6. or are they supercharging the I4.

Here is something a member on Fresh alloy posted. And it has me wondering:

"I won't tell you what the surprise is but it is something that may have been spoken about....not mentioning any names Question is will it be pleasant or not...and you're about to find out."

-GTRV35

Now most members were throwing out RWD and LSD. Hmmm. RWD or AWD would definately catch me by surprise.

As far as power goes... I have given up. With the excpetion of the Corvette... they are OUT of the game. It's 1975 again but only at GM and only with their cars.

Talking HAHA

Looks like The G6 has already got its a** kicked before it even hits the showrooms, good one GM.

Looks like I've found yet another reason why not to buy the G6 for myself.

Yep. This may also increase the aftermarket the Altima has currently. This is a smart move by Nissan and I give for it.

Now, if this car is equipped with RWD or AWD, then i'm gonna take that beast for a spin. I may have to save up for it at that point.

Like I said in the 2005 Altima thread that I started, this takes the Altima to a whole new level.

What's wrong with the FWD Altima? I'mm tellin ya... go drive one.. you are in for a big surprise.

The Nissan Altima has always been a great handler... it's even better on the current platform.

The problem, from what i've read, is the boat loads of torque steer that goes along with the power the Altima puts down. But i'll be test drivin an SE soon.

Where's the info on the new Xterra? And what exactly did they redesign about the Altima? Looks the same to me.

^^you should look at the old altima compared to the new one...it's just a refresh, plus they updated the interior and added Navi...the new interior looks a lot better, the old one was cheap looking

Sounds great on paper, we'll have to wait to see the finished product though. It could end up being a major bust.

I hope Pontiac tweaks the 3.9L V6 in the GTP for more than 245 hp. The Altima is at 250 hp. As stated earlier, the G6 GTP is behind before even hitting the showrooms.

I'm hoping the G6 3.9 will be torquier, plsu I think I heard some people say don't be surprised if GM ups the power a little before release due to competition.

I can almost garauntee it'll be "torqueier"...it's a pushrod, for one, and GM power bands are notoriously flat, to boot.

You guys gotta remember who you're talking about. Nissan is a step above EVERYONE right now. They have put all care behind and are going all out doing whatever it takes to lure people to their product and it's working.

Therefore, it is important to realize that GM is in par with everyone else. Comparing Nissan to anyone is like comparing apples and oranges cause as said, Nissan is all out right now. They are number 1 and no one can keep up.

Ya, GM isn't the only one that's behind Nissan. Nissan has put out lots of great cars recently. Isn't Mazda 6 or Honda Accord supposed to compete with Altima? Mazda 6's V6 only makes 220 HP.

And no torque. Same for the Honda. If hp is what makes a car, then Dodge has been in the run for a while. Some of their V6s put out like 240+ hp. Don't hear anything about them tho do ya?
