****Nitto 225/35/20*****
These new tires from nitto will allow 20's to fit without rubbing since the width is still factory 225. Discounttiredirect.com has them for like 180 each tire.

screw 22's go 24's. You might have to do a little lifting of the car but it will be ok. If its hard to get into you can put some step rails onto the side, they mount nicely onto the gagt side skirts.

I think Ricer-Tech makes a good lift kit that may fit the GA....Also, A new company called hOmO Industries has one in the works.

I will be the first now to offer input. 20" is a tad too big with stock suspension and wheel wells, atleast I think. 19" with 235/35 is the biggest you can go.

^ Don't forget to mention that 225 35 20 are rubberbands and that the unspring weight of 20's will slow you down and beat the hell out of your car, as well as, wreak havoc on your tie-rods and the rest of your suspension. Plus you will look like a clown in a mid-side car on giant wheels that are designed for SUV's.

225/35/20 is way too focking narrow of a tire, I don't care if Nitto makes it!!
235/35/xx is not a tire size.

Your speedo would be way off with that size, too. Check the tire calc in my sig.

you still have extra height over stock, which could run you into trouble in hitting the spring perches out back. there's not a whole lotta room up there. plus you'd be hard-pressed to find a good-looking 20x7.5 wheel to mount those on.

Ok, as far as 225/35/20's go... they would fit underneath our cars just fine according to Dr. Kyle's calculator. I have stock wheels and run Eagle RS-A 225/60/16 v-rated police car tires. Just so you all know, if you're interested in those, make friends with your nearest GoodYear guy... they only change the police $50/tire and you can usually get them for the same price.
P.S. I've been riding on these for months and have not had a single problem. I can even turn my wheel just fine and they even seem to eliminate some of the oversteer in the front end of my Coupe. |

Jax you are a dumbass. A 225/35/20 is about four inches taller in diameter than the stock 225/50/16's on our cars. I don't see how you are going to be able to fit those seeing that the stock tires sit so close to the strut.

he said he has 225/60/16 on his car, which are about the same size as a 225/35/20 not sure if that's what he meant to put or if it was a typo, or if he may be mistaken on the tire size...not sure, but IF he does have 225/60/16 on his car, then the 225/35/20 would work without hitting the spring perch, although I, like you 2003, am somewhat skeptical of that.
EDIT: Just because this thread is in danger of becoming a shouting match, I went outside and measured a little bit. From the tops of my 225/40/18 tires to the highest point of the spring perch (which is definitely directly above the tire) is around 1/25 inches in the front, and under an inch in the back. A 225/40/18 is supposed to have a diameter of 25.1 inches, and a 225/35/20 would have a diameter of 26.2 inches. That puts you definitely in the trouble zone out back, and much too close for comfort up front. Remember, the problem with 20s is generally the height, not necessarily the width (unless you're trying to fit a 20x8.5, in which case it would get hairy). the 225/35/20 still seems a little too tall to bolt right up without having to change anything else.

All I was saying is that I run 225/60/16 RS-A's all around on mine. And according to that calculator in the other guys signature, they're bigger than the 20's he's planning to stuff under there. I would NEVER put 20's on my ride. I honestly hate anything that does not look "tasteful" on a car. And I never said RS-A's were top quality tires. It's just an economical solution that I'm happy with on my ride. I'm by no means an extremist with my GA, I appreciate the car too much to go crazy on this one. So there is no shouting match here, people just read too much into things, so it's all good. I'm not offended by people. But so far it seems that only JordanGT read my post correctly, thanks! Have fun everyone... I'll stay out of the forums if this is how the majority of the members act now. I deleted my acct before, I'll do it again. *shakes head negatively*

I'm highly surprised, after looking around with a measuring tape, that those fit on there. It's not that I don't believe you, but would you care to snap a pic of the tire and how much room there is from the top of the tire to the spring perch front and back? I'd just like to see the clearance that's left with that tire. I can see it working on the front, but I'm very surprised out back.

If I had a digicam I would, but I don't have one. I need to buy one next month, so if I remember to I'll come back here and show pics. But all I can say is that I have about 1/4 inch from the spring perch and about 1/2 inch from the valve body of the strut. The rear is about 3/16 from the perch and 1/2 from the valve body of the strut.
