BOV help

allright guru's, another question.

i am in the midst up getting a BOV but i need one that will vent back into the intake and not the atmosphere. this is becoming hard to find a decent one for a decent price.

i have found many bosch and dsm and other OEM crap for like $5-$15, but they are poopy and i dont want poopy.

i would like to have that swooshy sound but not at the cost of running really rich while its doing it.

what are you guys doing for BOV's?

The only type I can think of that you are looking for is a CBV/BOV.

your doing a turbo setup and don't understand that a turbo plumbed back into the intake doesn't make the noise?

If you want that PSSSSHT & a good price go to the links I sent. Figure for that price if ya destroy it because of cheap craftsmanship I guess you will learn as others have and do (ya get what ya pay for). But if your running a CBV and forcing it back through you wont get that sweet noise... Why do you want one that doesnt emit it into the atmosphere anyways? Emition laws or something?

WHy do you want one if it doesn't emit into the atmosphere? I don't know, maybe because it stops compressor surge????? I like my turbo, I don't like hearing it try to slow down from 20,000 RPMS in a second though.

Why do people act like a BOV is a big deal. In most situations, the importants of a BOV is similar to what type of radiator cap you want.

first of all, i know what i am doing and on MY car, if you do not run the bov or cbv back into the intake after the MAF the car will dog out and run EXTREMELY rich.

and i want the pssshhhttt sound, but i know i cant have it if i dont vent it into the atmosphere.

and neither of the links you posted has a vent tube that will allow it to be routed back into the intake. thanks though.

as stated before, i need at bov/cbv that has a vent tube that allows it to be routed back into the intake and the only thing i have found are poopy OEM Bosch and DSM stuff.

anyone have any other thoughts.

^^ The last response was not for you. But my analogy on BOVs still hold true. BOVs are necessary to release compressor surge, however, on here and in many other places I laugh when people ask about "what is the best BOV" As long as it holds up under the appropriate PSI that is all that matters.

I really don't have a clue WTF you are asking about!! Most aftermarket BOVs vent to the air, however in cars with MAFs you most of the time need to vent back into the airbox/intake. Find something that works and use it. Search Google, etc. Pressure test it before-hand and be done with it.

i was asking, as previously stated many times before in this same thread..........

are there any other brands OTHER than OEM stuff that are able to be vented into the airbox/intake, like Tials, HKS, etc....... model #'s help, geesh

and i do know most aftermarket bov's vent into the air, hense the reason i am asking my question.

christ guys, its a simple question. what other brands vent into the airbox besides OEM.

and amraam4, i am not just going to by some $5 part that is used and be done with it. you get what you pay for. there are some things i may go cheap on or off brand on, but the BOV is not one of them i care to take my chances on. i really dont feel like having my new turbo grenade on me because the bov has failed and allowed the turbo to skyrocket to its max rpms into a dead intake port (ie. closed TB), but again thanks for your "help"

my stock BOV can handle up to 20psi !!! It doesn't look pretty and it goes back into the intake (not by necessity because my car does not have a MAF). I, and many others don't feel the necessity to go out and buy a $300 HKS/Greddy/etc. hence why I said that buying one, pressure testing it for security, and then putting it on is good enough. Of all the turbo cars out there I very very rarely see one grenade from a broken BOV. If anything the BOV is going to slip first giving you a heads up it needs to be fixed. And besides, I doubt you'll be pushing even double digits in PSI.

What does your intake setup look like?

i dont have the turbo in at the moment, i am getting all the pieces together. it should be in within the next month or so. i am designing it off of the 2005 grand am concept car that had a 3500 and a turbo in it.

but i agree, $300 is way to much to spend on a bov, but i dont feel right about a $5 bov ya know what i mean

its apparent that no one has an answer for you.

Try this....

Try calling Tials, HKS etc..??

Google? Maybe a little leg work?
