Question Those with switch panels/relays

Did you locate all your relays in the engine bay or behind the switches hidden in the dash. I'm just trying to think of the cleanest way to run wires and mount relays.

I guess it would depend on what you are powering. It would be pointless to mount the relay in the engine bay if the accessory it's powering is inside the car. I'm not sure how the Spec is, but there's all kinds of nooks and crannies for mounting relays behind the dash on the GA.

I had my addon fuse block under the hood, as it was a lot of extra wires. and my under dash was crammed with wires, relays and brains.

I was planning on running 8ga to the box and a separate power supply for the head unit too. I'll only have about 4-5 relays behind the dash so I'll check out one of those project boxes. Right now I'm thinking: switch for hu, switch for remote turn on lead, switch for radar detector, switch for fogs, spare. Do I even need a relay for the radar detector switch? I was told I wont need one for the remote turn on lead.

Oh molex connectors are da shiznit

wierd, i just finished puttin my project box in...
anyways, i did what seth did. seemed the smaertiest way to do it. i, on the other hand, had a whore of a time fittin the project box by the pcm. i dunno how seth got his in there, must have been the perfect size, because mine is pushin the kick panel down. i always have my knee bent so it dont matter too much, just bad lookin if you peep your head under there.

It's not a radio shack box, I think I got it from allied...

Molex & breakaway 8 gauges you can get at parts express.

Greg, if I were you I wouldn't use a switch for the radar detector, I'd just use an ignition controlled relay so it comes on w/ the car.

Brendan, got me, I just shoved it up there and it fit in between the steering stuff and PCM. Get under there w/ a light and move some stuff.

Do you have a distro block or terminal strip inside that box for power and ground? Like main power 8ga enters box to terminal strip?
