Question Cheap fast and Forien

Cheap is less than $12,000 total invested fast is faster than 14.5 in the 1/4 after modifications, forien is anything Japaneese or European, if VW no base engines (Mexico). Used cars obviously are fine, but less than 50K mile on the odometer unless it's REALLY cheap, then an engine rebuild can count as part of the investiment etc...

Ideas?

Keep in mind I don't know about RX7's besides the fact that they have rotary engines, except in the late 80's they had some slow V6.... The Mazda II or something (???)

Do RX's have back seats?

Well, I doubt it's an FD, because to get one for less than $12,000 is hard to find (at least up here, $12K US is $16K CAD). Possibly some sort of Honda product since they are cheap to find used and aftermarket parts are inexpensive. Either that or possible an Eclipse....

Or... Maybe you're thinking two wheels. Almost any bike can be had for less than $12K used and will definitely be quicker than 14.5 in the 1/4 mile.

WTF are you talking about? Your not gonna find many realistically fast cars for $12k and under 50k miles.

And you can just barely touch a running RX7 for $12k so that is not what I am thinking. And RX7's have never had a V6 and are 2 seaters

mid-late 90s Maxima + Spray = 14.5.

There's a turbo one running around on stock internals putting down like 550 hp and 12 sec timeslips w/ out traction.

Otherwise, 90s DSM if you can nab one with under 50k miles.

Oh yeah, with a DSM, by the time you're done going through like 10 trannies and dealing with crankwalk from the later gens that would most likely have under 50k miles, you will have spent much more than $12k. However, buying a DSM w/ low mileage that already got crankwalk would be cheap, and then you swap in the 1st gen engine (which has 6 bolt mains and is the strongest of the 3 gens and will hold up to the most power and abuse) and you're set. It's illegal (to swap in an engine older than the model year) but I don't think that will be easy to tell since the engine is basically the same, plus the later gens look the best, so it's like having your cake and eating it too.

Early model VW Bug. For $12K you could have the cur running in the 9's 1/4 mile. Street legal, completely redone interior, power everything, etc. Just have to watch out for rust, but if you want you could Rhino the underbody. They look real sweet when they're modded (California style).

Anybody know anything about these?

1995 Volvo 850 TURBO
Bodystyle 4 Dr Sedan
Color White
Mileage 66,833 Miles
Engine 2.3 liter 5 Cyl. 20 Valve Turbocharged
Transmission Automatic
Price $ 9,400

A little over mileage but still good with me. Perhaps I should have said "around" 50K miles.
