My first day of mods, yay!

Here it is, ladies and gentlemen. I finally made mods to my car. I painted my brake calipers red, constructed a mesh grill out of gutter guard, and put on some Grafxwerks badge overlays. There are pics, of course! Go to my N-Body page...and forgive me for the dirty wheels, it's been raining for days and I ran out of time to wash the car....

You painted calipers all yourself? That's great.

Yeah. Is that a shock or something...?

As for the gutter guard, I explained the existence of customcargrills to my dad and brother, but they said it probably cost too much money, and went ahead and started building a grill out of gutter guard. I figure if it falls about, I'll say, "I told you so," and order a real grill.

They feel this need to "supervise" me because I'm the girl. Blah.

My dad works for a dealer, and my brother has a custom sport truck...so they feel this need to do everything on my car THEIR way. Really, the only help I needed from them was jacking the car up to paint the calipers...

Oh, and I figured out how far back to paint them by looking at what showed with the wheel on. I painted them basically *almost* all the way back. I had paint left over, so I could have gone further, or put on another coat, but I didn't. I do have to say though, I used a kit that I ordered from stylinconcepts.com, and it was so easy. It came with the paint and brake cleaner, brush, and it has a lifetime guarantee. If it any time my paint chips, if I send them the proof of purchase, they send me another kit.

My dad is totally not in favor of me changing my headlight and fog light bulbs, because he doesn't think it's "worth the money." And he also hates the SC/T hood, so he's mad I want to do that. But it's me driving the car, not him, so it's not really his problem...he just doesn't agree about that.

on th headlight mods it depends... there worth it if they help you see i bought my silverstars to help get back some visibility that i lost when i put on my covers then did the turn signals because i was already changing 2 bulbs might as well change 4 more, i like em, i think their worth it, and if you pay for your own mods no one but yourself can tell you wether or not it was "worth the money"

I totally agree. And since I'm the ony putting the money into this car, I don't think anyone else should tell me what is and isn't worth it.

He'll get over it. My dad was the same way at first. "You should install lowering springs, it will mess up your car"--now he likes the car better lowered. "Don't waste your money on a hood"-- now he is thinking about getting a new hood for his GTP. Trust me, after he sees how much you like what you have done, he'll back off a little

SC/T hood eh? You know for a little bit more you could get yourself a set of headers and really show off

I wanted to lower my car, but my dad thinks I'll become a snow plow if I do. The roads here are awful, and the winters can be horrible. It's like pot hole city. I already scrape everywhere.

As far as headers go...it's a good point...but I'd rather get the hood.

headers suck, get the hood. dont mod your car out for speed, you'll be sorry.

As for the headlights, yeah its worth it to change the bulbs out to something better. Get ya some Piaas or Silverstars or if you want to go big ballin get ya some HID's
