Mid-Atlantic East coast with Turbo N-body experience?

Looking for anybody in Mid-Atlantic area thats done the HP Performance turbo, or any kind of turbo project on a N-body. I already ordered the kit yesterday. maybe I could get some feed back from Phantom505 on this too. It'll be probably 3 weeks before the kit gets in, but I wanna know what I'm getting into. My roommate has a 89 RX-7 turbo II running 13's and is helping out with the install. Feedback plz people.

he has asserted his dominance over competing males with the loud masculine sound form his exaust system, Females searching for a potential mate will be driven away by weaker exaust systems and attracted to his SLP.

Anyone with headers would be of help. It's very similar piping. Main thing is getting someone with a Dremel or sawzal that good with cutting sheetmetal on a car.

So phantom, you saying that I will have to be cutting out some sheetmetal? what kind of bag of worms am I getting into? Also, should I upgrade the dis. What kind of boost controller should I go with, the roomie has a manual boost controller that seems to be working for him. Should I upgrade the DIS? Phantom, what kind of mods had you done before you started playing with the kit? Seems that there is alot of potiental with this kit, just trying to keep this car a sleeper for now, so the word doesn't get out too fast.

If you have a place to work on your car and air tools, I'd be willing to help out if it wasn't too far.

I can't believe they didn't tell you.

I'm not on the best of terms because we are in the middle of some STILL unresolved matters. So you'll need to contact them for all of the necessary information.

I normally would just answer your questions, but HPP has been abusing the fact I have been helping them and I want them to feel as much heat as possible, which unfortunately means I have to be a **** and not answer questions specifically relating to the install.

Iceman, if you can come down to Virginia Beach, I'd love the help. ****, you want to, bring a few people down. I'm in the Navy, so I have access to a auto hobby shop with everything, and if needed I can get in with the speed shop located right off base to cooperate. Nobody around here has ever even imagined hooking up a turbo to a Grand Am, the interest just isn't there, which I don't understand, but anyway. To be honest, my car is stock besides the slp exhaust, k&n, 18" enkei w/ nitto's. I just got back from deployment in February and wasn't going to touch the car until it was paid off and coming off warrenty. Eibach's also are on order.

I've done the drive up to Philly a few times, one of my boy's is from Philly. Its about 5 hrs driving down Rt. 13, I'm from Salisbury and do the drive often. All my people are airdales like me, I'm in a F-14A Tomcat squadron, so we all turn our share of wrenches. I have access to a dyno.

Yeah, I'm starting to get that feeling. Like you said, because I called Friday, and the answer machine said she wouldn't be in until Tuesday. Dunno, I have high expectations tho, so I'm trying to be patient. Got the boost gauge hooked up, a/f gauge, but oil pressure wire is routed till I get a chance to change the oil. Am I going to have to add extra oil to compensate for the turbo? Anybody know who is running a Faze A/F gauge, because mine has been acting more eratic than I expected, using the casper pigtail, but thinking about just hard wiring it into the o2 sensor as a attempt to calm it down.

Has anyone actually recieved anything yet?

I'm so put off by these guys sort of wish I never bothered. But I got should good results with it. Too bad they can get their s*** together and actually get it out the door. I wonder how many they have back ordered. Knowing them they are trying to do some BS like get 10 orders together before they ship the first one... or something equally as dumb.

Yeah, called them today, and Ruth said that I am #6 now, but whispered under her breathe that she hoped her paperwork wasn't messed up. Starting to get royally ****ed. Its starting to get old when my friends ask me if the kit has come in, and what's taking so long.....

Had to cancel the turbo kit this week due to some financial issues. Had a bout with a curb and am going to struggle with getting everything back to normal, fight to keep some points off my license. Bent the Lower control arm, inner tie rod on the left side, left side Enkei RS5 18" rim and Nitto tire. Replaced the arm and straightened the tie rod good enough to get the car back to the apt, but she's wounded, camber is all out of wack. Sounds like everybody is having a rough time right now.

Dave McCormick..."homegrown" on here. He doesn't post very often. He's lives right here in GR, man. It's a completely stock looking silver Alero that says "Malibu" in the back window. He blew up his engine last summer and as of yet hasn't got things up and running again yet, I don't think. He was working at a dealership on 28th but switched jobs, and I haven't talked to him in over a month.

I still plan on doing the turbo, just a setback, like everything else. Hey Phantom, how is everything coming with your burnt wires?

Update: left strut was bent out of shape, replaced it and it brought the wheel back where it should be. now just have to get the passenger window back on track, replace the wheel and tire, and some body work. Thanks peeps.

Off the topic, but what kind of numbers can it do in the quarter. You are making some good damn power.
