300 C Hemi in Car and Driver

Ran a 13.8, 4 door sedan with an automatic and the same drivers that could only push a Mach 1 and a GTO to run a 14.0.

The car MFG's are going crazy with performance now... This is great.

sweetness...there's a chrysler dealer down the street from my school...i see those bad boys everyday goin for test drives...i cant tell which ones have hemi's though....but they sure are sexy mofo's

there was like this seafoam green one, it had to be the top of the line model...the wheels were chromed, and the grille had the chrome trim...i rolled up beside it at a stop light, i couldnt hear any meaty v8 though, but dang it was a beauty!!

Yeah, the exhaust is pretty quiet. That's because it might turn potential buyers who are looking for the combonation of luxury and performace away. They may not want that. If you want that type of exhaust, the Dodge counterpart will most likely enhance the notes from the exhaust. Dodge Magnum and the 2006 Dodge Charger.

The SRT versions should be interesting. I've read it will have 380hp (or was it 400hp?) and some performance upgrades. So that's an SRT for the 300, Magnum, and most likely Charger.

I love the performance ideas they are running with, but the looks still completely turn me off. Kudos to Chrysler tho!

yeah, saw that car in motortrend. looks like a rolls royce or somethin. i like it. but wouldnt buy one. too big in my opinion. but has the Hemi from the truck. in the 300C, the Hemi's horsepower is lowered to 340 from 345, and the torque actually went up to 390 from 375, compared to the Hemi in the Dodge Ram. that engine got some torque!

Chrysler 300C

oh yeah. and it also has a system where the big v8 turns into a v4 when cruising, or under light loads. the system is seamless; u dont notice anything if, like, u want to pass a truck. its able to do so in 40 milliseconds. the engine and the system have been tested over the equivalent of 6.5 million miles in development, and is covered by Chrysler's 7yr/70k mile warranty. epa is 17 city, 25 highway. it has a 5 speed auto with Chrysler's manual sequential AutoStick shift mode. the 300C will also be available with all-wheel drive, with a 62% rear, 38% front power distribution.

automobile magazine got the 300C to do 14.7@98mph, while road and track got a 14.1@101.1 mph. so im sure 13's are possible.

I've liked this car since I first heard about it. Couple Chrysler's only good mass produced engine (the Hemi) with MBs fantastic 5 speed auto (the same one in the 500hp SL55 AMG) and add MBs multi link rear suspension, you've got one hell of a nice car with awesome mod potential.

Get this... the 300C is running these times on 2.82 gears!
Can you imagine if you swap in some lower gears? Wow.

It would suck gas down like a mother too and it's probbably why they don't do it from the factory... but that's why there is aftermarket.

Still the fact that it has a 5-speed auto makes the final drive ratio not as bad as the numbers would lead you to believe it to be, it could have a very steep 1st gear.

Big cars are the best!!

It sounds like it has a very steep 1st gear by watching and listening to one of the videos that I posted in the 300C thread I started.

CTS-V HUH? looks like gm's gettin the ls2 in order for some good old competition!

THIS JUST IN: 300 C Base price is $29,973 vs. CTS-V BASE PRICE $45,603

Oh, and the chrysler has oh no for shame 5 more ft/lbs of torque at 800 rpms lower

Sorry GM, I'd rather take the saved money and buy a half decent boat with the difference!

Oh and BTW with an option of "California Walnut Genuine Wood Trim (Mfr Code CSY)" I _DO_ think they're trying to make the car luxury style

This just in....300C doesn't come base with a 400 hp LS6 like the CTS-v or a tuned suspension or any of the goodies the CTS-v is loaded with aside from basic luxury features. Thank you come again.

Oh yeah, 300C price is actually $33,000 base, with no options. Then again, the CTS-v is also around $50,000. Of course that $50,000 gets you every option you could want including DVD navigation, premium sound, except sunroof I think (I think that's the only option). Did I mention the 300C is ugly too?

I guess it depends on preference and money. If you have money to buy a CTS-v, you're not gonna buy a 300C and think about modding it to make it as good as a CTS-v.

You are correct on all accounts... however.. what does GM make to compete with this 300C in the same price range? Grand Prix GTP? No... FWD. So... nothing.

They really don't have much for performance anymore, and with what they have for perfomance is either very expensive or gets beat by the competition... excpet Corvette (really it is a bargan for what you get). They are trying to make a turn around but they fell asleep when the competition finally woke up. I am sure things will change. They should consider bringing back the RWD Impala SS (redesigned) for about the same price as this 300, but make it faster and better than the 300.

Either way, nice to see an American made RWD V8 pushrod powered sedan tearing it up... and for a good price!! I think Dodge is slowly but surley replacing GM for bang for the buck (raw performance for the dollar) vehicles.

I am actually eager to see what they will do next. First the SRT4, now the 300. What's next... an SRT6 Stratus with a blower for 26 grand built on a benz platform? That would be great.

I agree with you on everything there.

I like the 300C idea and design, just wish it was not so ugly to me.

I'm excited about the '06 Charger, except that I think it looks too much like the C6 Vette, which would be a gay move.

Ugly to me too... btu it the designe is slowly growing on me, I admit the performance helps it look more attractive.
