KYB questions

So I have Eibach springs. If I put them in my car, I know I should change my struts while Im at it. Do the KYBs have all the pieces to them? Such as the strut top, nut, etc? Or do I just take the ones off my current struts and put them on the new ones?

Wait. Just because you put springs you need to get new struts? Is the ride quality really gonna be that bad??

If you install Eibachs and KYB struts at the same time, the install will be much easier.

I may put the springs on the stock struts just for now, and in a month or so when I have more cash, just switch to kyb. They arent too expensive but Im short on cashola.

No they will not! They are not made for lowered cars. Therefore, when I put my KYB's on my car with Eibachs, it actually jacked the car up about .5-.7 inches. Don't know why it did, but it obviously happened. Dunno if it's because they are so much stiffer or what.

KYB's have no affect on lowering.......at all. I have H&R's and KYB's and the springs lowered me as far as they said they would. Struts have nothin to do with it, at least not with KYB's.

I think the same thing happened when I installed my KYB's. It looks as if there is slightly a little more space in the wheel well. Maybe it was my eyes playin' tricks on me but it did look a little higher but only marginally, very slight.

I have Eibachs and Sensa tracs on my car and they handle just fine. Not as aggressive as a set of KYB's but hey I'm not in Maine anymore so I don't need to worry about carving up those great country roads, back wooded roads, mountains roads, river course roads... I HATE IOWA I WANNA GO HOME A DRIVE ON SOME REAL TWISTY ROADS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Don;t think I miss Maine do you? ANyway, I put new struts on the car and waited about a month before I put new Shocks on ( $$ issues) I've had that combination now for 2 years and it is just now starting to show a little bit of slugginshness in its rebound.

I just replaced my stock struts that had 165k on them with KYB Struts, and used my existing Eibach Springs. The Front looks a hell of a lot higher now. Were my old struts so bad it was lower. Or with the KYB, does it take a while to settle? It's way too high. Might need to get some Sprint Springs.

lets think about this one for a sec guys. you can push the KYB shocks down with your bare hands, what makes u think that it wont move far under the weight of a car? It has no effect on height

well apparently my stock struts were gone so bad, that with good struts, it's a lot higher than it was before. It's an obvious height difference.

Struts have NO EFFECT ON RIDE HEIGHT. They only dampen the motion of the spring to keep your car from bouncing like a pogo stick. That's why KYB's are better with the after market springs. The springs are stiffer and therefore resist the damper's attempts to control it's motion more. The stock struts don't handle the extra stress for too long before wearing out. When your car starts bobbing up and down on the freeway you know your struts are bad. Replacing them WILL NOT raise your car though. Only keep it from bouncing repetatively.

Well there hot ****, my car was lower before the new struts, now its higher after new struts. So what IS CAUSING IT to be higher?

If they dampen the motion of the Spring, doesnt that mean its possible that if my old sturts were blown, the springs took all the weight of the car? And now with the new struts, the help dampen, therefore putting less stress on just the spring itself.
