Is it only at 10mph?
Does it go away/get worse when you turn?
Does it go away when you apply the brakes hard/soft?
Is it rythmic or constant?

edit: I see that's your first post, so you're probably not aware of the deal with RSAs. If you have the stock RSAs, that could be your problem.

There was an issue with the RSA's on 99's but I see you have a 2000 so I don't know if it involved your year or not.

I guess I don't know. I never had RSAs, I just figured it was universal.

If not...Refer to the questions in my previous post.

Its weird but its normal. Nothing mechanically wrong, its just one of those things that while irritating GM has no quick fix for. If you cant wait for the noise to go away replace with a different brand of tire.

There is a raised seam on the tire that rubs.If the car is still under warranty I think they would replace them, but seeing you have a 2000 you probably don't have one so get in touch with GoodYear like I did and they will replace at reduced cost according to treadwear.Or just buy different ones.

You actually don't have to switch brands, they fixed the problem with the new RSA's.

My 01 had the rubbing noise. I lived with it until I got a tire split at about 30K miles. It was late fall, the tread was pretty low, so I just bought new. I didn't want Goodyear tires again, so I just replaced them on my own.

has anyone had the tire rub problem with the 16" goodyear ls tires? I'm starting to hear a noise (low pitched voom, voom, voom) while driving at low speeds. I figure its either that or the wheel hub.

A good way to tell if it's the tires is to put around 42lbs of pressure and the noise should go away and then come back as the pressure decreases.

I have an 01 GAGT and about a year and a half ago I took my car into GM because it was making a squeaking sound at low speeds and they gave me 2 new front tires because there was apparently a recall on them because they slipped on the rims causing that noise
