to much gap with H&R's

I bought my H&R's and installed them a few months ago, they handle great and my car really looks a lot better lowered, but it still sits to high in the back. What should I do?? they don't ride all that bad, i would hate to have to get intrax, or should I try do cut that bottom coil off?? I know that sounds really bad, but I hate that fender-well gap. And if I did cut them what problems would occur??? Or should I just buy the intrax springs??

well i don't think there really is anything you can do besides buying different springs. i will be lowering my car but it looks like i'll have to go with eibach because of the kit.. i prefer the more aggresive stance h&r offers though.

the back does settle a little bit over time, but I know exactly what you mean. I seriously think it could stand to lose another inch in the back. I thought about buying just 2 coilovers for the back so I could level it out, but that guy will only sell sets of four. Oh well.

With my Eibach springs the back settled after a thousand or so miles. I would say wait to see if that happens enough for you and then if it doesn't get intrax springs.

I have over 5,000 miles on my springs right now, I wish they would settle a little more but I don't think they are going to. I do like they agressive look, but another half an inch or so wouldn't hurt!! Dr_kyle, your car looks pretty good, to me it looks like the back of your car settled slightly more than mine!

Do you think it would hurt to cut one of the bottom coils off??

thanks for all replies!

NEVER CUT SPRINGS, its a bad idea, i've seen a guy cut a spring and it ended up thru his tire somehow after he did it, on both front tires, not the back though

Well, I have Intrax springs, but it took over a year for the rear ones to settle. I'd say just be patient, but I know how hard that is; LOL!

Drop about 5 15's and a huge ass box in your trunk...that should do it. But seriously, if I were you, I'd sell the h&r's on here and buy the coilovers. I think I'm just going to go with intrax though.

just put you a 12" in there or some subs and an amp and that should fix that. That would be adequate enough to lower it another half inch. With the weight of the box, use MDF, and your subs amp and spare tire that should lower it.

Thats the whole reason why they leave you an extra inch to half an inch in the back so you can add subs. If it was all around the same then when some people added subs it would be lower in the back and look like you have a bunch of fat people in your back seat.

Yes but weight makes you slower. But I don't care enough to do anything about it right now. I have bigger things to worry about .

do what ECAP said and load up the car and ride around for a while, this will help them settle much faster.

the reason they are high in the back is because it needs room to move around when car is fully loaded, now if you load the car with 3 adults in the back, man does it ever look sweet

line your trunk with pastic so you dont get it dirty then get you some cinder blocks and fill your trunk full of em. or a bunch of bricks. Just dont get pulled over and have the cop search your trunk that might look odd .

I don't think they will settle anymore. Usually after the first 2 weeks they are done settling.
