Which Woofers should i get

ok, let me get this out of the way.....first of all i dont like loud sterio's, My last car had 2400 watts two 15 and it hit so loud i could turn heads for miles, but I really could care less now adays....

I do LOVE good sound quality though, and bass doesnt hurt, just dont want enough to shake my car apart.....

I'm thinking about putting a small setup of 4 10" polk momo mm12's (but 10's) what do you guy's know about them? are they good speakers, im not so concerned about how low, but i like tite bass.....how do they handle, and in comparison to others how do they take up air space?

thanks a bunch

Polk momo's are a clever way to mark up average speakers an extra $100 just b/c it says MOMO on them You can do better for the price range. You'll spend $800-1000 for 4 10" momo's...get 3 JL 10w3-d6 or even the w0's will sound nice. JL gives a happy medium between sq and spl.

check out these
infinity perfect 10's (good SQ)
Image Dynamics IDQ (great SQ)
Adire Audio Brahma (great SQ, great SPL, $$$$..but well worth it)

I suggest going with like 2 brahma 10's. Even one will be amazing. http://www.adireaudio.com/car_audio/...hma_series.htm
A bit pricy...but i have talked to pepole have have heard these and a JL Audio w7...and liked these getter for SQ and SPL. If i had the money to change my system I would go with 2 of these. I know it's hard to believe because you haven't heard of these. Trust me...these babies pound and have excellent SQ. Drop me an email or PM if u got any questions.

Four 10's can hit harder than 2 15's...why don't you just get a 12 or a pair of 10's or something?

not true. Four 10's can move more air...but that doesn't mean it hits harder. Somebody once hit 170's with a single 10" DD sub. Now you can have 10 15"s in your car and not hit that. I do agree though...instead of going with 4 10's...which could be a pain in wiring possibilities and everything...just go with like 2 15's. Remember...90% of the quality of your system is the install...not the product. So don't overpack your system with more subs and do a bad instal job thinkin its gonna be louder...when its not. You are better off with less subs and a better install. Good luck.

i believe it was in some sort of push car... not a real one, it was tiny !!!

and for great SQ, go for the 10" or 12" Adire Shiva...... they are 125$ for the 10, and are amazing in SPL and SQ !! adire is the thing this year in the audio world.

this sub looks like it's shiity, but it's not... dont judge a book by it's cover

Go for JL-Audio and a really nice box, get one that completely custom made and tuned. I personaly think JL will give you the best of both world, awsome Sound Quality and SPL.

Yeah the shiva's are great subs. And the good thing is they work prety well in home audio also, for subs or whatnot. Actually, I believe they were originally designed for home audio. Any of Adire's subs are icredible. If you don't want to spurge the $ for a Brahma, get a couple shiva's or tempests. You won't be disappointed with the output, extremely loud. And top-notch sound quality to go with it. Better than you'd expect.
Or you can always go Image Dynamics....my personal favorite. Either way you'll be pleased.

And for the record, I kinda like the simple look of the shivas.

Re: Which Woofers should i get

The momo subs are good, but not your best bet for what you want I think. Polk makes a good driver and their venture with momo was well seems more marketing, so you are payng a lot of extra for that, but still a good speaker...

I would look into Diamond Audio. they make one of the ebst Q subs around and are not outragous in price. Plus they will let you know the box type for the Q level you want to obtain, which is nice. www.diamondaudio.com

the IDQ is a great SQ sub. The IDMax is an EXCELLENT SQ sub with some punch too. Both are excellent for the money.

On their site they also have eminence drivers. If it's the same company, I'm not really suprised that these are so good. Eminence has provided drivers for some of the higher priced/quality home speakers on the planet for a while now.

Talking What about this?

Well, you said that you don't want an overly loud system anymore in your vehicle, but what about 2 12" Eclipse Aluminums with about 700-900 watts a piece? Maybe even just a single 1200 or 1500 watt amp for the pair? I've got 3 that I'm selling locally and the only reason I'm doin it is because I'm gonna run just 2 12" subs, probably JL 12W7's or Diamond Audio TDX's. I think I've posted what I have for a system before, I don't know if anyone remembers though. It's in my sig now I plan on keeping most of it except the deck, subs, and box for right now.
