Psi ?

Just wondering what psi is everyone running who is supercharged or Turbocharged. I have a m90 off of a Buick Regal that I'm putting on to the car I got everything but I'm having trouble finding some one who wants to weld the manifold for me. I did a search and find a guy that is using the same supercharger and is running 7 psi. So again just wondering what everyone else is running?

So far I have bought the charger for $200 with throttle and 3.8 intake manifold, extra 3400 intake manifold $60, Cartech fmu for $150, Gaskets and charger oil $23, and small things like hoses, coolant, etc $50. Welding should be under $125. so it looks like you could be boosted under $600.

Different Pully Sizes= Different PSI ???

I would suggest not mounting the blower on your intake manifold due to hood clearance issues, rather mount it like in this pic.

Good luck getting a shaft and mounting brackets made. You're better off going turbo or something IMO.

Is this going in a sunfire? An M90 sits pretty high up, I don't know how it fits in a sunfire engine bay.

The hood clearance wont be an issue if there is an aftermarket/custom hood on the car.

There's two Cavaliers I know of with L67s, and both have the stock hood. Same with the 95 GA (JAMZ on GMPT). It may be possible.

But as far as your budget, don't forget the cost of tuning. Just throwing that on there isn't going to make your engine very happy, I'd think.

Great info and thanks for the pics i don't mind custom making a new hood from fiberglass and for now i belive 4 psi will be no problem with out an intercooler. but if i wanted to add and intercooler there is a company that makes a plate for the 3.8 and since i'm using the same upper intake manifold(cut and welded onto the 3400 manifold) i could add one of those. but this is really only going to be used when i want to race and i could swap out the manifolds at any time.

You can run more then 4 psi w/o a problem. People running the M62 are pushing like 12 psi.

Not really. an upgraded 2.5 pulley would amount to around 10psi. Stock pulley is 5 or 6psi.

Darkroom - Let me get this straight. You're going to spend a ton of money to custom make a hood ONLY to run 4psi?????? I think you should reconsider your decision before you are disappointed with your results.

I disagree, I think someone needs to do this after it is talked about so much here constantly. That way we can prove how much it costs and how pointless it is.

Umm, What do you mean by not really? I didnt say stock it will push 4 psi. I was referring to the motor supporting more then 4 psi.

the hood is no problem really i custom made a trunk for my tail light swap i have an extra stock hood that i could use as a mold for the fiberglass or just cut a hole in that and make just a scope for that. cost for the whole tail conversion was only under $150. with out the tail lights. and great to know that the stock motor could hold 12 psi i bet that has to be tuned right. and the reason why i'm staying with 4 psi is that my axle may give out over 240hp. and i'll just save up for the beefier axles.

Wow.....maybe I was wrong about the hood clearance issue

You're going to have to build one huge focking cowl hood to make that work, but congrats none the less.
