Pistons will win NBA Championship
Now that the Eastern Conf. title is in the bag its on to face LA. A lot of people are saying that the Lakers are gonna win easily, especially West coast media but listen to the guys on ESPN, they know that Detroit matches up very well. Its gonna be a great series. BEAT LA!!!

In all honesty, I think it might just be a very good series. I've been a Laker fan my entire life (growing up in South Cali.), so I'm probably a bit biased here, but when the Lakers play like they can, I don't see anyone beating them in a best of 7. Detroit is an awesome team, but the Lakers just have more experience, more talent, and a general sense of "winning" on their side. I'm gonna go with the Lakers on this one...... 4-2.
If Detroit does win, it'll kinda be like when Chicago beat LA back in 1991 with Jordan. Chicago had been improving for years, but just couldn't get over that hump, but when they finally did, watch out!

One of my friends is a huge Lakers fan, I've never really liked the Lakers but I would like to see Malone get a ring before he retires... just not this year. I'm hoping the defense can slow down the Lakers a little bit but they do have a lot of weapons. Every last player, even Darko for that matter, has to step up and play their best game night in night out for Detroit to win but if anyone can do it, they can.

Pistons will be putting the smack down on Shaq- I read a quote from Corlis that said we have 6 guys that are over 6'10" each can foul 6 times so 6x6=36 fouls on shaq a game. He said they are going to put it to Shaq HARD! IDB !

If it works....... it works. It's his own fault that he can't shoot free throws for crap.

Great win in Game 1 for my Pistons! Playing withouth Rasheed for most of the first half yet still keeping it close even with all the missed layups, etc gave me a good feeling heading into the second half. I think LA was taking them lightly, the Spurs won the first 2 of the series but then again that series started out in San Antonio... if the Pistons can pull out game 2 and go back to Detroit up 2-0 that'd be huge. I think the whole west coast had an eye opener seeing their beloved Lakers get blown out in game 1.
Larry Brown had a great game plan, let Kobe and Shaq get theirs and stop everyone else, the only way the Lakers win there is if Kobe and Shaq both score 40 or 50 which is very unlikely. |

hate to be a pessimist, but I have a feeling Lakers half-assed the game (just to win the final game in LA). Now game 2 in LA they'll blast us.... then at least 1 of the 2 in Detroit they'll win.... then finally winning at home. Just my opinion... I love the Pistons and hope to God they win... but LA played horrible.

^^ forget the finals is a different format. the games go 2-3-2 instead of 2-2-1-1-1

We'll see in Game 2 if it was the Pistons playing great defense on everyone else or if the Lakers we're half-assing it like they are known to do every once in awhile. Myself, I think it was a little of both but who knows. All I know is that Detroit only needs 3 more wins to win the title!

I think the Lakers took the Pistons lightly and didn't play with any intensity at all,it was easy to see! IT WILL NOT HAPPEN ON TUESDAY!!!The Pistons did play a helluva game,I will give them their due,but I just don't think they can beat the Lakers 4 times in a series.
