Uh oh

Got around to waxing my new car this weekend (never had a car nice enough to wax so this was interesting). I washed it and dried it but it dried so fast in the sun! Ididn't realize that their were tons of water spots everywhere. I let the car cool off in the garage and then waxed it. Looks great! until I get it into the sun and im like a foot away I can see all these water spots under the glossy coat of wax. I was ****ed. So here's my question. What do I do now? Will they come off next time I wash my car? Do I need to strip all the wax off and start from scratch? Or can I just wait a few weeks for the wax to wear itself off? I think im goingto buy a blade and better absorber for next time to avoid this.

Also, Thinking about doing some minor body mods to my car, Its torchred and I went to that site GrafxWerks and saw some cool things I could do to it. Anyone have any ideas about which color would go best with Red? Im far from artistic =)

Ya, just wash your car a couple times and you will be fine.
Silver or white on red looks good I think.
I have red on my silver.

heres a tip for washing the car, never do it in direct sunlight. one, the soap may dry too fast casuing you to have to wash it again, 2 the water will dry too fast leaving spots, wash it again, and 3 if you wax it, the paint will be too hot and cause the wax to dry too fast which is a bad thing. if you have no choice, then i would constantly spray water on the car keeping it wet this way when you go to dry, you dry it and not the sun.
hope that helps a bit

Jessi,

Concerning the three topics on this thread:

1. As NYC said, never wash or wax your car in direct sunlight. Continuously spray light mists of water on the whole thing until you're ready to dry it. This will prevent water spots. Use a rubber squeegy to get as much water off of the car as you can. Once you're done drying, move the car out into the sunlight to inspect for water spots. If there are some present, spray a light mist over the car, and dry it off again. Make sure the car's painted surfaces are cool and dry before you wax. Don't use circular motions to put the wax on or take it off. That will cause swirls. Use front to back or side to side motions.

2. I have a red car. When looking for a secondary color to accent it, it's all about your personality and what you like best. Red with silver means class and refinement. Red with black means mysteriousness and sleekness. Red with white or yellow says you're an easygoing, carefree person. I have red and silver accents on the outside and inside of my car, and red and yellow accents under the hood. If that tells you a little bit about me, then that's sweet...

3. If that's a picture of you in your avatar, let me bring out the male, shovenist pig in me and whistle...

Ian

Its funny that guys use 'pick up lines' across the states via the internet. makes me laugh.

but I don't think the forum is for that sort of thing buddy, I'll bet thats why they have 'private messages'

Haha....I'm just kiddin' anyways. It's good to have you on the site, though. I hope everything goes as planned. If you need anything else, just post up and you'll find your answer.

This might sound dumb but this is what i do. After i wash my car i spray it down again and hurry and jump in my car and pull it in my garage as fast as i can. I then hurry and jump out and dry the side that the sun was on (obviously this being the hottest part of the car)as fast as i can, then I do the rest. I have to move quickly, VERY QUICKLY. My neighors think im a little off. So im that weird guy with the really really shiny car.
