For the 2004 GTO lovers

Car is growing on me, looking for '05 though. Here is a bunch of pages with pics and concepts. I like page 12, shows the first unloadings off the HUGE ship. Also, page 13 has the GTO 'Autocross' or what I am highly guessing is the 2005 version. Already called my bro-in-law to let him know I want him to inform me when I can order.

My #1 things are power and the interior. Outside is OK. I just want that comfort and power and can't seem to find it elsehwere.

The exterior is a bit boring for such a car as the GTO,but I still would love to own one.Too bad I am such a poor guy!

I was sitting in a black on black 6mt at the dealer the other day. I know sales are bad with the '04s, and the '05s will have the better power and looks, but if the price is right, I think an '04 in the late fall would be worth the cash if discounted enough.

I don't like the red one on page 13. The front end is way too small for the rest of the car. It's like placing a small head on Arnold Schwartzenegger's body. How about at least slapping a ram air hood on that ish?

There's a dealer here slapping stick-on scoops and twin wide stripes on a large percentage of their GTOs .

I have already advised Mr. Lutz of this activity, and he is planning a visit to biotch slap the sales manager

I don't suppose many of youz guyz remember the '74 GTO. (Google for it, but have a puke bucket handy)

The 2004 is a thing of beauty in comparison. This one is a badge-engineered Holden, true. But it is a starting point.

@ puke bucket!

Did you really contact Lutz and actually get a reply??? Perhaps he can bitch slap them for the stupid mark-up and scams (even though it is within their dealer rights)?

I don't understand all of the "boring" talk to be honest with ya....the frickin car looks no less boring than any other mainstream car out there. It actually looks like a Mazda 6 but in a two door. Or no less boring than an Accord 2 door or etc.etc.

I agree that a "Camaro replacement" should be more "exciting" looking but this car isn't a new Camaro at all. It's much more of a refined drivers' car than say a muscle car.
I think, regardless of sales, it is helping to show that Pontiac is about being a 'drivers car'...

Forgive me but the past products have been far from that....I mean I've got an 03 GT with SC/T and it's decent but I dont think anyone perceives it as a car for someone who may be an auto enthusiast.

I think the cool interior is such a great selling point...Even those who seem to hate American cars and can find fault with ANYTHING GM makes, look inside and say COOL....that says alot.

Anyway, I am looking at one in blue and I hope I get her....Only bad thing is, I would have a payment and higher insurance....The 03 is paid for. Oh well

Yeah the interior is ****ing sweet on that thing. Just wondering why they went from the automatic/digital HVAC controls to manual knobs for here?

Old GTO's look like ass in my book. I think this is a huge step up as far as looks go.

As far as the "camaro replacement" being more "exciting"... I don't know, but the camaro sucked ass in my book as well. It was more "boring" than the current GTO in my book. The Trans Am looked mean as hell, the camaro does not.

That's my opinion.

I agree.....The Camaro wasn't exactly a tough car to replace....It was getting old. I can see if they want to bring it back in a bit but for right now I thik were fine without it.....The WS6 Trans Am looked bad ass but wasn't selling like it should and it too needed a replacement....Just like changing the Grand Am name to G6...at some point it becomes required. Like changing the name of the Cavalier, you cant make that car forever you know. I would like to see Pontiac become a real performance division, not one people look at and laugh and say well it LOOKS sporty but I heard they arent fast. I think getting rid of a car like the WS6 and adding a GTO to the lineup says, "Were maturing but not going geezer" Forgive me but the Trans Am was attracting a little too much white trash and old guys with Trans Am jackets. Don't get me wrong, I'd love one...or a Camaro SS...I however don't think that they are helping technological progression at all. Lookm at Cadillac. They are making some great cars now and why? Because they are saying screw all the old and dying....we need to catch younger buyers or we will die like 50% of our customers will soon.

Anyway, Like I said the GTO is helping the image....more than the corporate pocketbook.....I think it will be worth it in the end.
