CTS-V: A Work In Progress

Magnuson Products is working on an SC kit for the Cadillac CTS-V. The SC is 'Intercooled'. I would guess this would put the motor over 500 HP. Too bad we couldn't get enough people behind the GA SC kit.

There is in the working a CTS Super V. I just read the article in motor trend. The super V is suppose to put out over 600 horses. The production line on the vehicle is 50 units. The starting price is mid- 60's.

Yeah Keith, but you have to remember, that is a very similar design as the LS1. Kits have been around for those for a couple years and it only took about 6 months for the just released GTO kit. Vortec is also putting the finishing touches on an SC kit for the GTO.

Eaton SC kit for the GTO is $5900 and gives 125hp ....and people complained about $3000

Yeah. That is why the GA aftermarket isn't that great. The whiners that have no intention of buying a given product, influence those who aren't sure about buying.

I'm pretty sure the special edition CTS-v is the 500 hp one and the STS-v is supposed to be 600 hp.

Everyone would love to have an SC, but $3000 isn't something everyone can spend in the blink of an eye. Many people on these boards are students with very limited income and enormous expenses. School, car payments, etc... They can't just put these expenses aside and shell out the good part of half a years income on a SC.

I'm glad some people have extra income they can use to enjoy themselves with, but please be understanding when making statements about why certain products haven't taken off. There's usually a very good reason.

oh really? Then maybe you can explain to me the $3000+ so many people who are young have spent on a specific body kit that does absolutely nothing for the car?

Sorry, but your statement gets no love from mwah.

How many people on these boards have body kits? Most of the cars are stock with minor mods.

People have different interests. Some love SC's and can afford it and will buy it. Some love body kits and can afford them and will buy it. Some love either or both, but have no money to do so. Once again the majority of cars on this site are stock with minor mods.

i think bob was just getting at the fact that many people bitched about not being able to get one for the ga and when it was available, most of those people didnt stand up and get one. im not arguing that most of the people on here only have minor mods nor do i think he will, its just that if you cant afford something and say you do just to get it in the market, it draws a negitive image to the community when its delivered and no one buys it.

I think we got off-topic here. Let's get back to the Supercharging of the CTS-V.

Maybe I'm blind but what's up with that supercharger in the pic?

It looks like the throttle body is where the snout and pulley should be...it just doesn't look right.

IIRC, that blower is a rear-driven unit. That is the throttle body on the front of the SC.
