no you dont wax your car every week esp if your using regular harsh abrasive wax. If your using good stuff like Zaino thats a diffrent story.

The most id ever wax would be once every month if even that.

Last 3 years 3-6 coats of zaino about once a month during the summer.

Now, 1 coat of zaino every month or two.

AMRAAM4 and I were just discussing that question in the "You guys are going to kill me" thread. He said 3, I said 2, really as many as you are willing to spend time putting on. I actually have been doing weekly since I have an overnight job and can do it then. Honestly doing a coat or two of scratch/swirl remover and wax(Zymol) weekly has made a difference from doing it less often. I have people say it looks brand new and near perfect, definately not looking like I've had it since early '99. I admit if I weren't able to wax and put swirl remover on at my job I wouldn't have time to do as much as I do.

I have been trying to do mine once every 2 months, with quick detailer every week after washing.

I use Mothers Caranuba Cleaner Wax.

I polished my car last in May. I may do it again this month if I have time. It's Zaino, so I don't really need to.

i try not to do it alot, cleaning the car i try to do every week at least once... cleaning is the key to keeping it good because it gets all the crap off the paint before it can start to eat it up

Hmm... something tells me with the frequency of your wax jobs... it would be a bad thing to say twice a year, huh?

I'm a zaino user.. I don't think I've put any coats on in about a year now and it still cleans up great. Does it need touch up? Just a little. I couldn't imagine waxing every other week like some of you do tho.. what a pain in the ass

I'm using Zaino, and even without claybarring and WITHOUT washing in dawn to get the old wax off the car, zaino has been on for 4 months now and it still washes up (which I only wasn the car every other month) like the day I put it on. One weekend here I'd like to claybar, wash with dawn and really apply a good coating of Zaino. My TA (which doesn't really see rain/snow/the like) has had Zaino on it for about a year and two months, and it beads better than any wax I have ever used/seen. If you have a garage, Zaino is the way to go (I think).

Some of the new waxes that are out now are pretty darn good, but everyone comments on how "deep" the shine is to the TA. The metallic in the paint really comes out unlike any other wax has gotten it to.

Though I can't wait to get the whole car painted to my favorite color, Electron Blue Metallic (Corvette blue).

2x a year. In the spring a full claybar attack and meguirs step 1 & 2 and the tech wax for step three. The tech wax gives a rich deep look to the paint. In Mid September I re apply the Tech wax. Quick detailer every other week. Yes a little over kill but when you grow up in Maine where they use lots of salt, you tend to go a little overboard on paint protection. Even now in Iowa, old habbits die hard and w/ 8 year old car, the paint still looks great (minus the key mark of course)
