These are my faves, and my tastes are for SQ that can get loud. There's a lot more stuff out there that is good, but not that i'd put in my own car. Although I haven't heard the w6v2's yet, and I hear they're pretty damn good.

w6v2's by far. My best friend has two of them in his trunk and it will make your brain turn to mush if you sit in it too long. The Audiobahn flame-Q subs are really sweet, also. My Sony P5's are just enough for me, though... (don't flame, I like 'em)

I love the one I've got. Kicker Solobaric C12-4 (round style). I bought it new in 1998 and it still pounds like it was new. I'm sure it'll die one day, but 6 years later it still hits nice and hard.

If I had to get a replacement, I'd either get a JL W7 or a Solo L712. Probably the Kicker though since the one I've got has been a champ.

I haven't had much experience with higher end subs, but I have a Memphis M3 10" that I love. My friend has a 10" Infinity Kappa in her Alero and it does pretty good SQ wise and will hit pretty hard as well.

Those are the only ones that I've heard more than a few times that I've liked.

A few other friends have Pioneers, but all they do is make the car rattle. No SQ at all. They get pretty loud, but with 2 12's and 1000w how could they not?

i second that! they are pricey but if you've heard one in person in a quality setup and not some shotty job...you'll understand why. i personally feel that they are worth the money. very high quality product.

i also like the old Elemental Designs A series subs with the flat Nomex cones. i have a 12a in a sealed 1.0 ft^3 enclosure and it sounds beautiful.

you can find better for less.

RE XXX hits just as hard as the 13" w7 with better sq. for half the price ($365)

1) RE XXX
2) Brahma
3) maybe JL W7

Quinton, I'm not being an @$$ at all, so please don't take it that way, but I'm pretty sure most all of the guys that have replied on this thread have been around the car audio world long enough to make an educated guess on their favorite subs. Plus, it's really more of an opinion question that was asked instead of a cold, hard, factual question. I wouldn't really say one particular sub was my favorite unless I had actually heard it, but it's not really a standard criteria for someone to have heard a sub for it to be their favorite. It could be simply for looks alone or whatnot. Just my $0.02...

but most of the people that have been around long enough dont buy a sub for its looks.

they buy it for its performance or it fits their needs.

now to all the people who list RE, ED, Adire, etc -- Which subs from these companies do you have first hand experience with?

Many people have the power of influence.

For example "RE XXX hits just as hard as the 13" w7 with better sq. for half the price ($365)"

I surely hope that the user that stated this has tried both drivers in his own vehicle given the same power and reccomended enclosures and then made an educated decision that the XXX is better in all atritbutes than the w7.

Cause I surely hope hes not just repeating what was most likely started by one influential person and spread around message boards.
