2005 SSR.

I just read some interesting information in my most recent Car and Driver.

GM confirmed for next year, the SSR will get a 390 HP version of the LS2 and an optional 6 spd manual. Not too shabby if you ask me.

Now it's got a little more balls to back up the looks.

good, it needs it. However, besides that factor, after driving it and seeing it at Auto Show in Motion...it's ugly, pointless, and won't see 2007 model year.

See, I like them and if I had the money would buy one. I figure I like the looks because it reminds me of the '53 GMC I used to have.

ssr's are way too overpriced... i mean 40+ for this, can't really use it as a truck yet its not really a sports car. Now the new ones will be 50+, give me a Vette pleaes if I've got that much money to spend on a car might as well invest it in something that looks good

The Grand Prix and Bonneville have more trunk space than the CARPETED BED of the SSR.

Sorry thing is, you know there is a message board somewhere with people who love this thing and would defend it to their death. It's overpriced, ugly, not really that fast for a V8, handles like a tank, isn't comfortable, impracticle. It's really a big toy truck for people with nothing to spend their money on and not enough testicular fortitude for a real performance vehicle.

Warthog has disabled reputation
you can tell it's hard to sell too ... when i went to local dealers about vettes they were heavily pushing the SSR, and spewing similar BS about hey they sell them for 10 grand over MSRP

I think they're extremely cool......... but seriously overpriced. About $26k - $32k would be about right. Unfortunately, you gotta pay for the novelty of it. If they only made a few thousand PT Cruisers to begin with, you'd see them for $30k at dealerships because they're different and retro......... even though they're not even close to worth that much.

my friend has one. it's a good, solid car. no power, but if you want something that will last and has a quality build, then it's great. a lot of room and has power outlets, good gas mileage, but whatever.

Weren't the Vibe & Matrix actually a joint venture using a 50/50 parts bin? I thought I read a while back that most of the engine/transmission aspects of the car were Toyota, but the rest GM? (except for for having their own seperate designs)
