What NOT to do to a car!!!

Well, this is a long story...I work at Chrysler Financial in the Repo Titles Department. I've dealt with many auctions and seen many things, but this takes the cake! This was a 2003 Neon SRT-4 with 34K miles, and I guess the owner was really mad at us. Guess they showed us!

oh ok so i take it the car was yellow to begin with. Thats going to be a biatch pulling that crap off but I think the guy owned himself spending all those hours putting that **** on.

From what i first though he poured acetone/paint remover all over the car.

Yes, it is indeed Duct Tape. The auction started to remove it, but stopped. The entire car would need to be stripped and repainted. He owned himself because the way it works is that the sale price at auction is deducted from the amount still owed by the customer. This will lowere that amount probably $5-6K, so the guy will owe us that much more. These are the things that people don't think about before they act. Live and learn!!!

The story goes.....Car kept overheating...would cost 1Kto fix...he was upset abput this...my question is...what did he do that it was not covered under warranty?? probably modded the engine and then could not get fixed under warranty.
So he turned the car in...but modified the paint first :-)

How many rolls is that?! He really took his time to do it too, it looks so neat and precise the way he went around the lights/reflectors/dodge emblem instead of just slapping the tape over everything.

The Auction is in Virginia. I do not know the date yet. It is a private Dealer Only auction. I can't even get in :-(

I will try to keep an eye on the car in our computer system and see what it sells for. I wouldn't mind it either, I bet it will go pretty cheap (relative

The funny thing is, and most people don't know this...

When your car is repossessed, at least where I work, the vehicle sells at auction. We take the price the auction gets, and subtract that from the balance due at time of repossession. We then ADD repo fees, and towing, and auction fes. THE CUSTOMER IS STILL RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DIFFERENCE!!!! So why decrease the amount you could get at auction. People think the debt just "goes away". Not so!

Did he change out the rad? That would make the warrtnay void.

Somebody said Poor Dodge? It's still a POS, even if it wasn't covered in duct tape
