2005 World Series

So who's your pick? of course I'm sticking with the Braves....even though St. Louis is really strong.

Well, my heart is going my boys in blue, the Dodgers. I think if they play like I've seen them play, they can beat St. Louis or Atlanta.
However, my brain is telling me its gonna be St. Louis vs. NY Yankees. Those 2 are just too strong.

By the way..... Barry Bonds is getting all the attention this year, as he should because of the, what are they............ oh yeah, those 700+ home runs he's got now. However, I think Adrian Beltre deserves some serious consideration for MVP.... as much as Bonds for his performance this season.

uhh 2005? Hard to tell what will happen next year!!! I think you mean 2004 World Series! Cardinals may be unbeatable BUT will their pitching hold up in the playoffs? Tough to tell, Dodgers/Braves will be tough. If the Cubs can get the wildcard watch out - who wants to face Prior, Wood, Zambrano then throw in Greg Maddux as well. If they hit like they have been they will be very dangerous.

In the AL - this could be Bostons year, 1-2 punch of Pedro and Schilling will be tough. Minnesota will lose first round as will Oakland more than likely setting up another NY-Boston ALCS.

If the Dodgers don't make it to the WS....... I am SOOO hoping for a Cubs vs. Red Sox World Series. God, that would be kick-ass seing those 2 teams and their fans arguing over who's had the longest drought and who will end it. Besides, that way you know at least one of those teams can't moan about a "curse" anymore.

I hoping the for the Cubs to make it and play the Red Sox, that would be the best world series ever.

If what they say is true, that pitching and defense wins championships. Then I gotta go with the sox out of the AL. NL is anyones guess. Pedro and Schilling Are gonna be tough to beat in any series.

F(_)ck that.... Deduct 215+ at bats for Beltre and see what kind of numbers he puts up compared to Bonds. Take his homerun and RBI totals from early to mid august and that is equivalent to Bonds playing an entire season. I have no respect for the pu$$ies that are afraid of Bonds. He shouldn't suffer from an MVP every focking year b/c his numbers are extremely understated. Not only are his HR and RBI totals suffering, but he is missing out on tying or winning a lot of games for his team in the late innings, which is also what is considered when choosing an MVP. If it weren't for the garbage that the mlb allows these past few years, then Bonds would have had his diK in Ruth's ass a long time ago!

My vote: Bonds is MVP.

Why did this thread die so quickly? My prediction is accurate so far as the Twins failed to bring any competition to New York. Now, the World Series begins this Tuesday, October 12th The greatest rivalry in all of sports world wide is this years REAL world series. After the Yanks win their 40th, I could care less about who they play from the national league.

if you really care less who they play IF they beat the sox, then you are no fan

world series victory or nothing, anything else and the team is just another loser
im a sox fan and if we beat the yankees and lose in the series i will be just as ****ed. none of this "at leasy we beat the yanks (or sox in whatever case)" thats just crap
anyone who thinks like that isnt a fan

and anyone in boston who wanted the yankees to win so we can have another "showdown" can kiss my ass. a true red sox fan would NEVER, EVER want the yankees to win regardless what game it is and what its for.

Braves and red sox, sox losing in 6 is my world series prediction

OK, now that the Dodgers are out of it... I'm hoping for a Cardinals vs. Red Sox series. If that happens...I'll give it to St. Louis. I know the Sox have great pitching, but the Dodgers pitching wasn't too shabby either, and except for the 4-0 shutout.... the Cardinals kinda rolled over my Boys in Blue. I'll say Cardinals over the Sox in 6 games.
