Appearance wise, I like it better than the GT, but I still think it needs a little getting used to. But I bet performance wise it is incredible...

I posted a link to a butt-load of pictures last night. It's in the Mustang thread in the Other Makes section.

if i was saleen... i wouldve changed the look to look more like a Shelby (everyone seen gone in 60 seconds )... since ford wanted to bring back the retro look, why not do the same.

looks good non the less... though i actually like the 00-04 (?) style Saleens better.

I think Carol would have something to say about that.

Cervinis is working on a kit that looks like Eleanor. (edit, added pic)

I like the Saleen, except for that wing, too dominating. Takes away from the overall look.

Under the hood of every S281 is a high-performance 4.6-liter V8 engine. In the 3-Valve model this engine produces 325 horsepower. In, the supercharged S281 SC the horsepower leaps to 400. And for the S281 E, which will be introduced next spring, the engine produces a mind-boggling 500 horsepower. Now you know why the E in the name stands for Extreme.

The rear wing's a bit much....

And I'm sorry, but Steve Saleen should have his balls cut off for the fake center-exit exhaust.

Pricing for the 2005 Saleen S281 starts at around $38,000 for the 3-Valve and just under $45,000 for the supercharged model.

Yup. That sold me on the new style when I first saw it. I'd buy one just to put that kit on it.

not a bad car...ive been reading rumors about Carol Shelby having some input on the next generation cobra mustang, in fact the cobra stang may be no more, a name change is in the works

mfuller-how is the center exhaust fake? have you seen the previous model saleens with the center exit exhaust?

the wheel offset seems wrong to me. seems like the car has to ride extremely stiff so that those tires don't rub the fenderwell, because it looks to me like the tires are sitting equal to and/or outside of the fender. maybe it's just the angle, i don't know.

I'm not sure on it yet. Some days I like the new Mustang, other days I don't. When I looked at the pictures, it already seemed really dated. I know it's supposed to be a modernized Retro look again, but it's already dying for me...Time will tell how long they can run with this body style before sales drop off...but then again the bang for the buck ratio is super on the new Stang, so who knows.

^ Haha that's funny, they should be ashamed of themselves for doing that.
