New Team atop the NFL?

so the streak ends for new england... and next up on the Steeler's list... Philly. Depending on what happens next week against the Eagles, i'd say the Steelers could be the best team in football, after that romping of New England today.

New England was hardly the best team in the NFL this year.

Like I said on another board, it's gonna be funny watching Rothlisburger's ass get benched the minute Tommy's arm is healed.

Steelers actually dont suck this year but I wouldnt go claiming best team in football yet they have to stay consistent, they have a good shot in the crappy weak AFC though I'd love to see a all PA superbowl steelers vs eagles

eagles are in no way the best team. if baltimore had any offense they would have romped all over them today.

i cant say who is, but the eagles seem ready to lose a few games to me, and we will see in the long run who is the best wont we?

and people said the pats werent the best last year, and it ended up they were, so who knows who can do that this year

why isnt this in the sports section?

I guess 5 wins in a row isn't consistency anymore. Right now yes...the Eagles are the best team in the league and the Steelers are the best team in the AFC. Next week will tell who the better team is. Steelers are the second best team in the league right now....The pats are the defending superbowl champions and they are just as good as they were last year...if not better with the addition of Dillon. The eagles got TO who has made a huge impact and is (in my mind) the reason the Eagles are the best team in the league. The Steelers went out and got one of the best free agency pick-ups in Duce Staley and drafted (once again in my mind) the best QB in the draft. A no name QB from a MAC school...who'd of thought it ? I would love to see an all PA superbowl too...Lets hope the Steelers can keep this ball rolling and philly doesn't blow it again in the NFC championship game for a fourth time...that'd remind me of the Bills a little....

wow, some people cannnot read... i said depending on what happens against philly. who else is better than philly right now? no-one has a better record, i'd say Indy is decent, but you can't get very far with no defense.

wow that's as easy as me saying...if the eagles had scored 20 more pts they would have romped all over them. add something to any team and they would probably be pretty good. it's all about the balanced team.

true, but what i specifically meant was, if the ravens had jamal lewis and he wasnt serving an unjust suspension. then it would have been a whole different game

Am I the only one that watched Philly almost lose to Baltimore yesterday and Cleveland last week? Apparently...

Cleveland put up 31 points against the Eagles 2 weeks ago, and I don't see any improvement in the Eagles' run defense anytime soon. I think it's safe to say that the Giants are a better ball team than the Eagles right now. Add in the injuries from yesterday's game to Eagles players and I think Pittsburgh doesn't have too tough of a game next week. It's in Pittsburgh, too.

UNJUST SUSPENSION!?!?! You must be smoking what Jamal was dealing. The only reason he didn't get more then 2 games was because he has passed all his drug tests! You have a drug dealer and a murderer on the Ravens and your boy ray ray should be in jail. Great model there in baltimore

amen... the ravens are the new age Oakland Raiders... with less dominance on the football field

Once again...if B Westbrook wasn't out, and shawn andrews wasn't out and Correll buckhalter wasn't out(would ya like me to go on). It's the nfl. New England had it the same way last year. Alot of close games. It's the good teams that can pull them out. And the Giants being the best team...that's a good one. Can we remind ourselves of what the eagles did to them in week one.

If this, if that... Same old story. Any team who almost loses to Cleveland and Baltimore isn't going to beat Pittsburgh.

That was meant toward the comment about j-lewis being out. Not toward this upcoming week. but wait....the steelers also almost lost to the cowboys and lost to the team the eagles just beat. also that 13-3 win over the dolphins isn't that impressive. and the raiders 24-21. Wow that is just a beatdown. Point being wait until the game is played.

I don't really see many people pointing out who exactly IS the best team in football right now...just a bunch of people saying that the Steelers and the Pats aren't. I have news for people backing the Eagles. Yes, they're 7-0, but they haven't played anyone worth talking about. Their matchup against the Ravens this week was their toughest game yet (or at least it was supposed to be). As was stated earlier, the BROWNIES almost beat the Eagles. Then, the Ravens, who are better than the Browns but still not among the best, were one TD away from beating them. Don't get me wrong, I like the Eagles, but they're simply not the best team in football. RIGHT NOW, the Steelers and the Pats are. The Steelers have the momentum to win against anyone. The Pats, although they did lose quite handily to Pittsburgh, are still the team to beat. You're allowed to have a bad game once every two years... The Giants are building their team and have the potential to be a late January team. Bottom line is that the Eagles may have the best record, but they don't have the best team. Steelers/Eagles will be one of the best games of the year.
