Ford's new Mustang may be getting rave reviews, but a key competitor says it isn't worried. Chevrolet marketing director Jim Campbell says the bow-tie division can cover that segment with the four-cylinder, supercharged Cobalt SS and Monte Carlo. Sorry but you have things like the focus that will be battling with the ss crapolt. The focus is waaay better too. It IS the best hatchback out there. Not to mention ford has been very successful at rally with it.
On a side note, I've been reading in various mags that the GTO will be used more in drifting......or so many people speculate. Anyways..... |

This must really **** off the f-body die hards I'm sure they'll go right out to buy a monte carlo or a cobolt ss...yes I'd rather have a crapbox overpriced 4 cylinder over a powerful v8 putting out 400hp

The monte carlo is a joke. Horrible performance and worse styling. I havent driven a supercharged one, but i can say from experiene that a 3800 is slow.

What a dumbass... He should be directed over to the "Loser" category immediately. Anyone who thinks a 4-cylinder is in the same category as a RWD V8 deserves to be beat with a loaf of fruit cake.

me and my buddies like a few months ago were in his mom's oldsmobile minivan... and yes what did we beat? a monte carlo. with like 6-7 people in the van. so theres my verdict on the monte carlo...

Are you sure it wasn't a Monte with a 3400? I wouldn't be surprised at all if you beat that, those things are slow as molasses.
