Due to an embargo agreement with Ford, we’re not yet allowed to tell you about Ford’s next midsizer, the Fusion. But that deal doesn’t apply to AutoWeek reader Richard Smith of Chicago who snagged this nice shot of the 2006 model.

It will share the same engine too, so it should be quick enough to shut up those who scream about how slow the 500 is.

Its....ok. And Seth, its not the design the companies make, its the company itself.

Have I ever once said I hated the design of ANY of their cars? Nope, just the company itself. Not all the designs are bad, because quite a few resemble domestic cars.

But I love the CTS, and it looks like a CTS. But like I said, its ok in my book. Lower it and I think it will look better. But as you know once again Seth, lowering cars in Michigan roads = bad things.

Btw, you coming out again this year for NAIAS?

Headlights look more like they came off of a last-gen Prelude, but are tipped up instead of laying back towards the cowl.

CTS is better looking IMHO. However, this is a pretty nice step for Ford.

Yeah... exactly why I just bought a Chevrolet Cavalier, I speak of Hondas and Toyota's so highly.

No bud, you got it wrong. For the reason that it weights 9000lbs and has 12HP and -16Ft.Lbs of torque and has a "Ford" badge... that's why I don't like it.

If it had a "Honda" or "Toyota" badge, I would be pretty surprised since it looks nothing like the quick, good performing, reliable and functional yet very boring cars Toyota and Honda make.

Stop confusing me with the domestic car haters on this site, get it right, I am a FORD hater (but would give credit where credit is due, and in this case they took 12 steps behind the Taurus... even in looks!!).

So I guess you hate the CTS then. And ya, Honda makes the greatest looking cars and they arent bland at all.

Wake up smart guy, they do have bland cars. WTF iS the Element? ****ing ugly. CRV is nothing special. The Insight? Shoot every driver of those. The Pilot looks too tall and short IMO.

And why do you hate Ford? Whats the real reason? Wish you had one but cant come to buy one?

It will be at least 500 pounds lighter. In this age of 300 horsepower being nothing many of us have forgotten the basic principles of power vs. weight. The 500 does 0 to 60 in the low 8 second range....our loved GAGT's do it in 7.7 so whats the big deal. The Fushion will beat a stock GAGT in your beloved drag race, with ease.

These people are like alcholics and I am a recovering one. I use to think that way. I use to hate Ford. The main reason I hated them was beacause I wanted one but couldn't come to terms with buying one. Not anymore. The small, narrow minded pot shots dealt in hear are done by people in denial.

At least Ford didn't have to stoop so low at to buy engines from HONDA to compete! (Saturn VUE)
