Yup, thats the only way if you dont want an svs light. Its very effective, and not too hard to install (takes some patience though). It also gives you independent fog lights, and takes away the automatic headlights if you choose. On top of that , Mike and Kent (the people who took the time to make the kit) will help you with any problems you have. Its great, get one while you still can!

no, 2001+ you can turn on your parking lights + fogs (night only) but if you don't want drl's and no svs light you gotta get the drl kit from mike and kent

the dealer can turn off your DRLs from hooking the computer up to your car but they wont do it because its illegal. So yeah you gotta buy Mike and Kents DRL kit. They are real nice guys even know i dont have a DRL kit id recommend it to anybody because their customer service is top notch. Ive only heard good things about them.

Actually, it is not illegal. DRLs must come as an option on new cars, but it is up to the owner if they would like to have them on or off (US only, CDNs MUST have them).

As far as dealerships, like Iceman said, they can't reprogram the BCM. Theoretically, if you have proper law enforcement and/or government credentials AND a valid reason to have them turned off, GM will do it. You have to have a letter (with proper credentials in the letterhead) sent to GM, and they must then APPROVE it to even consider disabling them. They do not release any of the information to the dealer before this happens. I have NEVER found a case where GM has approved the override.

As for the kits, we have ONE left. We are out of all of our bulk supplies, and due to absolutely rock bottom demand, will not be reordering parts.

We will, however, continue to make kits on a request basis, but will purchase parts locally to do this, and the costs associated with these parts locally are more than double what we had paid before. Ordering parts in bulk got us really decent discounts, which we passed on in the price of the kits. Now that we are purchasing locally, the costs involved in these kits will rise, as will the price of the kits. I will shop around over the Thanksgiving break to get an idea of the increase we will be looking at, so I can give a quote to anyone that MAY still want one.

This really shouldn't be a big issue to many people, because there seems to be little to no interest in the kits. If someone were interested in a group buy, and a deposit was made, we would consider ordering in bulk again.

If anyone has any questions, feel free to email us at drlkits@yahoo.com .

-Mike

If I didn't already have Mike and Kent's DRL kit, I'd be all over this one! Seriously folks, these kits are extremely well-made, and provided it's hooked up right, works flawlessly. So who will the lucky buyer be?

There's another way. Cost's about $2.00. Ask Adam Thomas.
