McLaren's are pointless anyhow. Business wise there is no benefit to man hours and work put into them, even if they do make a profit.

I'm still waiting for a chrysler branded vehicle that I would want to own. The 300c doesn't do it for me and the crossfire is a joke. I'm glad that they are realizing that vehicles costing upwards of 250k is not what the market wants. Lets see a decent 20k car!

The 300C is in a totally different class than my car first of all. Show me the 300 I could get for 25 grand and it won't hold a candle to my car! I would like to see a Chrysler brand vehicle that is competitive (FWD, V6, 200+ HP, with a decent interior). The Sebring and Stratus are horrible cars. I think that they should spend development money somewhere other than on limited production rich people's toys. I don't think I put down 90% of cars here, I will admit that I am a tough critic though.

It's a closer competitor than any one of our grand am's ever was. Have you driven a G6 against any other cars yet?

Its a closer competitor? Based on who's judgement, yours? Or the real numbers.

I won't be buying a G6 anytime soon. Why? Theres no interest in the design, the skyline sunroof is teh useless. What happened to Pontiac being the performance division? Cause I see no driving excitement.

Thats just purely my opinion though. (take no offense, G6 owners)

About the McLaren..honestly, it's probably just tieing up too much money with making those SLR's when they can probably use the money else where. Seeing how the 300c raised profits across the entire Chrysler board, its a thought towards what America as well as the rest of the world may want instead of 600 hp+ supercars that only 12% of society can afford.

That is exactly what I was originally saying about the McLaren- poor business decision. If that money were put towards a midsize car program Chrysler might be the sales leader in midsize and full size segments (thats a big maybe).

You can't judge the sales of the G6 as being a success or not yet, wait until it's been on sale a year and has a coupe- just like grand am sales did. If you think that the G6 isn't a beter competitor in the midsize family sedan market than the GA then you are crazy! About Pontiac being the performance division, lets see, the Grand Prix will have 303 HP avalible, the GTO has 400, the GTP G6 will have 240, the Solstice will have more standard power than a Miata, its main competitor. The Pontiacs on sale now are the most performance oriented pontiacs in a long time (we will leave out Pontiacs minivans and suvs, I wonder why they are in the lineup at all). Maybe the abscence of side cladding and missing fake hood scoops on family sedans means a loss of performance to some of us.

I too apologize for taking this off topic.

too bad alot of the competors i listed have comparble power to the g6 GTP

...the only truly fast car that pontiac has is the GTO...nuff said

and the solstice may or may not be a success...it looks pretty gay to me...and is heavier than the miata

dont get me wrong...come august/september...my grand am is gonna be history

edit...i wanna see this 303 hp Grand prix

nvm i found it.....but its also gonna be 4spd auto...BOO!!

and supposedly 5.9 secs 0-60....right......................id expect more from a "performance" car thats prolly gonna be in the 30k range

http://www.chrysler.com/300/ BASE price is 23K. With a few options it'll bring it to 28K. as much as a G6. I'd say chrysler is a lil ahead on this one.

Edit: and i BELIEVE the sebring convertible is still the best selling convertible in America. They are nice cars too.

I too apologize for taking this off topic.
So you think because I have a SC/T hood and plastic side cladding, that means my car's faster than yours...No as a matter of fact. I actually like the direction they're going by ditching the plastic siding. But while we're on the topic of looks, lets compare:

99-2004 Grand Am GT's are aggressive because:

dual exhaust
aggressive body styling with appealing lines
bold front headlights with large front fog lights
dual post side mirrors (before the Alero's died and gave us their mirrors)

2005 G6's are aggressive because:
...
single exhaust?
4 piece sunroof?
mean front end?
Dodge Neon resembling rear end?

Thats what got me into my Grand Am, looks. I didn't know enough about cars to compare power, longevity and mod-ability when I purchased it which leads to my distaste in the lack of power it has. Now if I were to purchase a new vehicle, ideally the GTO would be the best Pontiac for its: dual exhaust, sublte body styling, bold front headlights with large fog lights, and a LS1 (which is mod-able, hell yes..) and what do you know, you've got a kick ass replacement vehicle tha t matches alot of the likes I had for the GA and still giving a big boost in the power department that I was unhappy with now.

But in my opinion, a G6 is a wanna-be luxo sedan, wanna-be accepted by more than just the younger crowd. But considering Grand Am's were 62% of Pontiac's sales on their entire line-up, and a majority of it was the younger crowd, what younger crowd would be interested enough in the G6 for what baller status might you hold?

Again, purely my opinion.

Exactly. Also, I feel the Bonneville GXP should have been RWD.

I think he accidently left himself logged in in a public place somewhere.
