Used car needs some TLC

I bought a 1999 Grand Am GT that needs some TLC. I am a noob so I didn't know where to start and I don't want to pay big bucks for a dealer to tell me what the problem is. Maybe some of you can help me out.

1. first 2 levels of air flow for my AC do not work.

2. Rear defogger doesn't work.

3. Cigarette lighter doesn't work.

That's enough for now... anyone have any useful advice?

1) There's info around here somewhere. Searching would get you answers.

2) I'd say check the fuse. If that doesn't work, try searching.

3) Ditto #2.

The best advice that can be given here is to use the Search button. There's lots of info about purty much anything that can go wrong with our cars that's already been covered. btw,

Check under the hood, in the engine compartment fuse box; check fuse # 34.

if the fuse you put in to fix your ciggarette lighter keeps popping then you might have the wrong ciggarette lighter in there. when i got my car (used) it had the wrong one in there and everytime i pushed it in it would short out. i took it to the dealer because i thought it was something worse and they charged me like 40 something for labor and everything for 20 bucks worth of parts.
