If GM is selling half as many G6's as they did grand ams id say theyre doing allright. Keep in mind it is a new car, and the Grand Am is still around too. Also the coupe is not out yet, and neither is a bigger engine option. They sold a lot more Grand Am sedans because they looked decent, and were still practical. I think because the G6's styling is more subtle, people will have to go for the 2 door to get the nicer styling. Regardless, i think we need more than 6 months to really know whats going to happen.

Gee, kinda funny we were all saying this about the car....but one specific engineer here always wants to reply with the notion that we (forum members) don't know what we are talking about, are immature, are "Debbie Downers", etc. etc.

That type of personality is one of the main reasons why GM is about to go in the tank

AHHH YESSSS....More great ignorance and attempt to not face reality by GM:
Quote:
GM's Steilen said he is frustrated with such opinions.

He defended the car's performance, saying that it takes about a year for a vehicle with such high volume projections to ramp up, and he noted that most of the G6 variations, such as the four-cylinder version and convertible, aren't even on the market yet.

"To me, it's anything but a disappointment," he said of the G6's performance.

Funny you say that, becuz I've been told I'm extremely negative...but that way I never get disappointed haha.

As for the article...I wasn't posting it to start anything, just thought it was interesting. I personally see these cars EVERYWHERE I go, then again I'm in Detroit...where every other person has either a Grand Am or a Grand Prix

I rarely see a G6 around here, I think on the road not counting dealers ive seen 5?

Everybody Ive talked to thinks they are ugly, overpriced.... I tend to agree. Once again GM needs to listen to the advice of the buyers of these hunks of junk instead of building them and finding out that was a mistake and making up excuses. Afterall, we might have some good input.

I really thought I'd like the G6 more when I seen it in person, but unfortunantly I dont. I cant see past the horrible side profile, I cant pinpoint where it goes wrong, I just dont like it.

I also dont like the fact that the current car only has 200hp, and the most powerful engine will only do 240hp, and still probably have a stupid speed limiter.

After replacing the power steering pump for the 3rd time now on the GA (due to very poor engineering by GM) dealing with noisy poor brakes and the worst front wheel bearing design ever, I'll be hard pressed to say that the G6 is much better engineered then its competition.

There are so many cars on the shopping list for my next purchase, I think the G6 has slid nearer the bottom of the list.

I'm also not getting into the whole GM dying bit either, they are big and I'm sure they'll stay that way, someone will buy their cars, just not me. They know the truck business, and I cant wait to see the next line of trucks.

Yep, I was one of those negative folks. And my words turn out to be true. Out of two months, I've seen only one G6 on the road. And that was yesterday. The last time I saw one was in January in New York.

The car is lacking. I have no interest whatsoever. And appearantly, so do many others. $27k for a "loaded" G6? Muahahahaha!!!

yea I'm sorry but whoever pays over 23k for a g6 gt is an idiot theres much better out there for the same price. Cant wait to see the price of the g6 gtp I'm guessing 28-30k...yea that will sell well. Wait a year and pick up a g6 gt used for 14-15k then its a decent deal.

G6GTP will probably cost 7-10K more than a SRT-4 which will smoke it in the performance category....

I hate the G6, I have seen 2 of them on the road, and alot at dealers (obviously they are not selling, just as I predicted) They are ugly, slow, and still crappy new GM quality, everyone says, The GA needed to be refined or whatever, but hands down 99+ GA still looks 1000x better than the G6, inside and out
