2005 GTO just got owned in the HP dept.

It's going to be produced in 2006.

http://www.fordmuscle.com/archives/2...T500/index.php

I am not by far a Ford guy but damn.

The Camaro should have been back by now new from the ground up with an LS1 and a blower for the SS version. Something.

Nothing like stomping on the grave of the old F body.

Lets see, only a whopping 50 HP? Slap a pulley, tune, and exhaust, and your at the 600 range. What does a GTO do with underdrive pullies, exhaust and a tune?

A guy at a Pontiac dealership around here said you can pay extra and they will supercharge your goat from the factory. A supercharged mustang may have more HP than a GTO but supercharge that LS2 and your looking at around 550 hp and 600 tq.

I am not a "Ford or Chev" person I own a 2001 GAGT1 and a 2003 F-150 SC 4x4 Lariat
I have owned a lot of cars and believe me all auto builders make lemons.

That said the old KR/ GT500 has always been a fav of mine .
This retro GT500 looks awesome and sounds like it has the balls to boot.
The GTO has balls too but I think they messed up in the looks dept. IMO
As for HP argues... well the BS stops when the ET slips are turned in.

This GT500 looks like it will be a car to buy and keep for a long time .
Not many cars come by lately that look to have collectors item written all over them ala 70 's muscle car.

All I have to say is come on lottery tickets come on!

Tim

personally i like the old gt500 like off gone in 60 secs more than the new one. maybe its the rims i dunno.. why do auto makers put such **** rims on.. the 2006 vette has some nice rims on it at least.. it hauls the **** off the new viper.. 11.7 in the 1/4 and 29 mpg.. 500 hp u cant go wrong there 74 grand. the viper is 86 grand and gets 22 mpg does 1/4 in 12.1 and has 550 hp.looks the same as it did 5 years ago too

i definately agree gm messed up with the gto looks. .they need a much more agressive lookin car.. the gto never was a big mean lookin bitch but the judge edition was a bit meaner car. .i hope in 2007 they come out with a judge version that is pimped out with fat rims and a supercharger with about 500 hp.. the thing is that car is a holden car. now in australia they have 2 versions.. the one is the version we have and the other has as many hp if not more than the vette.. in 2004 when the gto was released it had 350 hp and the vetter 400.. the holden version of the gto had 350 and 450 hp. they wouldnt release the 450 hp here because gm never wants anything to out perform the vetter. no no cant have that

Firstof all, I was wondering WTF the GTO had to do with Hewlett Packard.

But after reading, very cool looking car......too bad it technicallt competes against the Corvette and/or Z06.

News just in, the GTO owns the Accord Coupe, Toyota Solara, and Mazda RX8!!
