Once i saw the side profile it kinda looked excactly like the accord but with just a different backend. I could tell you this, I'm 99% sure that the tail lights were LEDs. I wanna say that it is an accord. But then again honda somewhat updated the accord's tail lights for 2005 so I don't know why they would update it again. Maybe it's not even a honda at all, who knows? I only took two pictures with my camera phone, and I regret not taking more . The first one is really blurry, and the second pic is of the back.

I can barely make out the first photo but from what I can see of the side profile, it does look like an Accord. The Accord is due for it's update for '06. And as I understand it, the Accord is supposed to receive a drastic update.

Alright, looking at the top part of the dash in the second photo, i'm pretty sure this is the Accord.

I'll confirm that this is the Accord. Honda has a couple driving around Marysville where they are built. The refreshening goes a little beyond what most manufacturers would do for a midcycle update. Personally I think the tail is much improved. The front is not as drastic.

Hmm, those do look like ohio plates. It's the rear of the sedan that really bugs people. The front is good.

It also appears we are going to get some of the features the JDM version has had since introduction. LED tails and HID headlamps.

^^well i was gunna say the same thing...the second thing i noticed were the plates...those are for sure Ohio's fugly-arse plates

but a design change already? it's only been three years (well four production years)...

edit--check out the link...there are a couple comparison photos of this rear-end and some other redesigned rear-ends from Honda (new Civic sedan, SI-Concept)

all three cars kinda have the same rear "shape"

^Those are Ohio manufacturer plates.
Edit: 3 model years of being the exact same is becoming an industry standard, then you do a mid cycle refresh. After 6 years an all-new model is introduced. Everyone except for GM is starting to follow it.

The Honda Grand Prix. That's what it resembles from the rear.

Most are on a 5 year cycle. Toyta, Honda, and Nissan are to name a few.

1- 1998.....new model year......2003
2- 1999..minimal changes if any...2004
3- 2000..minimall changes if any...2005
4- 2001......refresh model........2006
5- 2002...final model year run...2007

If you've payed attention, Honda usually comes out with their new Accord 1 year after Toyota has introduced their new Camry.

1997- New Camry
1998- New Accord
2002- New Camry
2003- New Accord

The Camry just received a refresh for '05. That means it has two model years left or at this point, one and a half. 2006 is the final year for the current Camry. 2007 will bring a all-new Camry. The following year will bring the all-new Accord. By the way, Honda switched to a 5 year cycle for the Accord in 1998. Civic switched in '96.

1997/2007 - New Camry
1998/2008 - New Accord

Interesting.

the rear looks like the older generation without the light bar going all the way across the back.
