177HP Solstice starting at $19,995

FINALLY they get something priced right!! Looks like a really nice vehicle too, great engine. I'd even consider one if I were in the market, but I have no use for a 2 seater.

Miata starts at $26,340 with 178HP

S2000 starts at $33,150 with 240HP

MR2 Spyder starts at $25,145 with 138HP

http://www.pontiac.com/apprentice/in...cmp=appeohome2

Whomever made the call on the price on this one needs to take over pricing for all GM vehicles.

sweet car. Personally I like the looks of the Saturn Sky better, but I really like this one too, and the price is right

looked nice last night on Apprentice.

Rumor that the Sky may possibly be nixed so as to not overlap the Crossfire (in simple terms read this as: Most people so far like the Sky looks better and we just can't have that beating out the "father", Solstice)

Sounds good, but I was reading the specs and options and the base car is about as spartan as they come. Some options: air conditioning, ABS, cruise control, Power windows, locks and mirors, keyless entry, Limited slip, fog lights? The car would look ridiculous without them! So when its equipped to the standards of a Miata or MR2- with power everything, ABS, air conditioning, and cruise I would expect it to be more like $23,000. Still not that bad, but less appealing. That means a high performance version will probably be $27,000.

That kid cried when he got fired. It thought Trump was going to give him a hug and a teddy bear. "I don't lose like this in real life"

I guess I am mean, but it cracked me up. Poor guy.
back on topic

I think the Saturn Sky is nixed also because no one is buying anything from Saturn anymore anyway.

still sounds adequately priced. I think they are neat cars, my only beef is the powerplant which hopefully will have an SC option next year.

I think for the price, the drivetrain is great. Ecotec engine is pretty impressive, not a typical powerband of a DOHC 4cyl. Even fully loaded at 23K... still a great price and still about 3K less than the competition's stripped model.

A turbocharged version would be great. If it were indeed 27K (a "performance" version).. it would STILL be priced right.

No it won't be "fully loaded" at $23,000. Thats just what I think will be comprably equipped, you can still add things like leather, Monsoon stereo, XM, OnStar, Chromed wheels, Loaded this things gonna be expensive. Wait till Pontiac puts up the option price sheets and we'll see for sure. I'll still give it a look when my lease is up though.

The one you saw on Apprentice and commercials is approx. $20,750 I think. I doubt loaded it is more than $23,995

I've been waiting for two years for this to come out. GA might have to go bye bye. We'll wait and see.

I'd be ****ed too if I was a young single person and I bought a G6GT instead of this.

Anyone pay attention to the new G6 commercials?? They show the car throughout, then at the end in big letters it says something like (I'm off by a couple hundred dollars maybe)...

"starting at $21,495"

...then underneath in smaller font it says "as shown $27,450"

WTF????

I saw it. My wife says "the car is beautiful..." then she saw the price and became far less impressed.

Perhaps they had to overcharge on everything else in the Pontiac lineup to make the Solstice a good deal.

I am surprised they didn't advertise the GTO (pictured below) in the ads during the show.
