Um, excuse me... my dad has a BEAUTIFUL restored '73 convertible thankyou. It was more like 78-93 that they really weren't much of a performance car like they should've been. The C4 wasn't great, but by then you had the ZR1 and the grandsport, and the performance and technology was picking up speed, so by the time the C5 came out it was a great car again. Anyway, that sorta style was popular for a lot of cars in the 80's. That car would've been hot back then. Look at how many other things from the 80's we think are corny or lame now. Regardless, I've certainly seen nicer custom 80's era 'vettes.

My favorite year of corvette is definitely the '67 stingray. The 427 4 speed convertible with the stinger hood. Damn sexy car... also one of the most expensive and sought after these days. A decent example will run you $50K+. Good luck finding one of those.
Like I said though, my Dad's car is still a very beautiful car, and he gets many compliments on it, from 'vette guys and non-vette guys alike. It is still a classic corvette body style, and the C3 body style cars are going up in value and collectibility in recent years. My Dad's car is worth about 20K now, and he paid less than 10K when he bought it. If you can't appreciate a well restored C3 car, then you don't really have any taste in classic cars... that my opinion. ![]()
