Whats the best Woofer EVER?

this is perhapes the most contraversial question ever. what is the loudest? what sounds the best? and what is the most accurate? i know who has the loudest and i know, in my opinion, is the best sounding and the most accurate. i want to know what you guys think. everyone be perpared to back what they think up with some facts. and you MUST hear the woofer before you can judge it.

it doesnt matter what wattage. i mean i can take a 450 rms sub and make it sound better than a 1000 watt sub. its a question of opinion not wattage. say what you think and dont be afraid of what other people think

That is a matter of opion, thats all there is to it. So the chances of everyone agreeing on one sub, about 1 in a million.

Did you get your car audio diploma from Best Buy?

IMO:
Best sq/spl mix is the Ressonance Engineering XXX.
I've heard 2 RE XXX 12's slot ported at 32 hz running off of 2 Rockford Fosgate bd1500.1's. Amazing SQ, breath taking SPL.

The Adire Audio Brahma is another great subwoofer. Excellent SPL off of minimal wattage. I heard a 10" Brahma given 150w rms (were talking real watts, not that "made in china" watt bs your refferring to) slot ported at 36 hz that put out excellent SPL.

W7 is an over priced excellent SQ sub. I heard a 13W7 strapped to a 1000/1 that defied SQ/SPL. If these didn't range in the $1,000 dollar mark they would be well worth buying, yet they are over priced.

Crystal makes some 8" woofers that I have heard in a Double Shot P4S Snail Shell which were amazling loud and clear runnin off of a Rockford 501bd.

Speaking of SPL, Rockford came out with the Team Rockford Fosgate woofer (TRF)(pix below) that was meant for burps only. Each were hand built and weiged approx 100lbs per 12. 12's and 15's could be purchased through a retailer, yet 10's and 18's could only be purchased if you were a Team Rockford Fosgate member. Rockford had a van with 8 of the 18's running off of 32 BD1500's. Thats an amazing 6000 estimated watts to each TRF sub.

I have to agree rms>watts. My friend wonder why my 15+ year old Coustic amp was able to push his subs better than his new 800w mtx amp. That's because my amp has 250 RMS Watts

[quote=2003_GAGT]Did you get your car audio diploma from Best Buy?

no i didnt get my car audio diploma from best buy. i was just wondering what peoples opinions were. good god. by the way the amount of subs you have doesnt really matter. in the slp comp this year team pioneer only has 12 subs running, as compared to kickers 72 solo x's, and no one can get within 3db of them. so in my opinion 6000 watts to a sub really doesnt matter, especially when a 2000 watt rms sub can kick the crap out of it. so this is all a matter of opinion. personally i like boston g5s. there cheap and they can hang with subs that cost twice as much. however i dont think all other subs all crap. just wanted to see what other people thought i cant stress that enough.

dont they sell rockford at best buy? how ironic. listen this is exactly what i didnt want. some guy saying "well this is the best and anyone who doesnt agree is a moran" thats ignorant. all i want people to do is to say what they like and what they dislike. and for reason. thats all. i dont want people to trash other peoples stuff i just want a place where everyone has an opinion on one of the hardest questions ever. which is where your opinion comes in. now i have said what i like and what i have. it is almost impossible for me to go out and listen to every sub ever. but with all of us i'm sure we have heard quite a few. hence where the question came from. its a simple question with alot of differnt answers. no one is right and no one is wrong. so post what you think and forget what everyone else says, cause it doesnt really matter what they say.

heres what i run.

head unit: pioneer n1 with tv tuner
fronts: boston z6
front power: kicker 850x4
rear: pioneer rev 6x9
rear power: kicker 200x2
subs: 2 boston gt5 2ohms
sub power: boston gt 28

i will soon be trading my kicker 850x4 for a kenwood 25th anniversary 4 channel amp

Yes, yes they do, entry level car audio just how Audiobahn, MTX, Kicker, Alpine, and every other major car audio brand does. However, Power series from Rockford Fosgate can only be purchased through Authorized Rockford Power dealers. Once again, your a flipping retard who makes stuff up and tries to act cool about it.

it all depends on what you consider qualifies something as the best. imo, the best non-xbl^2 woofer is the W7. best xbl^2 woofer is probly the XXX.

really? every other major car audio brand? i have never seen any jl, mb quart, phoenix gold, machintash, eclipse, image dynamics, or boston acoustics. need i keep going? and i think all of us realize that best buy and circut city dont really sell anything too great. dont get me wrong SOME of it is pretty good for the price, like infinity perfect. and if you could pioint out where i "made stuff up" i would love to see that. for the record i have nothing against rockford. i liked rockford before they were bought out. i dont know what your all ****ed off about. if you think its a dumb forum thats fine. no one has a gun to your head telling you that you must read what me and other people have to say. also i love that you take only one point i make in the whole paragraph and totally ignor the rest. so your next responce is probley going to be crapy and take only one sentance, out of everything i have said, and rip it apart. cant wait to see it. by the way if anyone else has an opinion voice it.
thanks
