OK so for the last few weeks Ive been living with my rear view mirror pointing down. Everytime I put it back into position the bass just vibrates it down. I was thinking about using silicon tape on the ball inside the two socket adjusters or maybe even epoxying it into position. Has anyone else had this problem and if so what did you do about it? THanks!Cory |

If you vibrate your mirror out of position, you have the correct amount of bass. I just leave it down. *shrug*

Mine actually only has a screw on the mount to the window. Theres a ball on the window piece that goes into a socket...then another socket yet that extends to the mirror itself. Thanks for the quick reply though....
something like this but mines powered: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PONTI...spagenameZWDVW |

could put a little bit of JB weld on the bottom of the ball against the socket so it doesn't move down, once you have it adjusted to the right spot, then when it's dry, just take a black sharpie marker and color it.

remove the mirror, drill and tap the area where the ball and socket is...... then put in your own setscrew

I could never get mine to stop making rattling noises so i got a Pontiac G6 mirror. It doesn't have any lights on it so it doesn't rattle.

Couldn't have said it better myself. Just use your other mirrors if they are that important, one of my 6X9's pretty much cuts out my rear view because it blocks a good portion of the back window.

On 96-98 cars the rear 6x9s are completely below the surface of the carpeted rear deck cover... How are yours cutting into your rearview???Also this rearview mirror problem, is this a common symptom on 99+ cars? Because I've never had mine vibrate down like is mentioned in the thread... Every few months it starts to rattle with heavy bass/high output but I just tighten the little torx screw on it and all is well again *shrug* |

I actually got my G6 mirror for free. We do alot of dealer work for pontiac and we put a auto dimming mirror in the G6 so we got to keep the old mirror. Lucky me!

some aftermarket 6x9s come in enclosures. so he could have some of those propped up on the rear cover. and that would cut out a deal of visibility. well seeing as you tighten yours you wouldnt have the problem. but in any car if you let the bass go hard enough long enough, you will notice things begin to deteriorate.
