Difference in SE & GT springs

What is exactly the difference? I have the opportunity to switch mine out for free... I have heard it adjust ride height a little and they are a little more stiff to provide better handling...

They are. The difference in handling between the SE and GT is primarily the swaybars.

what changes the ride height/stance then? is that mainly the difference in the style?

the gt "kit" just sits lower than the se, maybe thats why it looks like the car sits lower.

I ended up just going with the Sprint springs... they were 149 plus free shipping... I wasn't looking for the 2 inch drop so these will do.. plus they save me an extra $50 or so

Yeah i thought about that... But after fixing the front end and what not... I would have to wait another 2-3 weeks to get the money for them... Do the new struts and strut mounts help a lot?

That and the fact that since you have everything torn off, it's better to just replace it all. It's a bitch to take on/off.

speed limiter varies on the GT from year to year... My SE stops at 107... SE's have no rear disk brakes, GT's come with the Ram Air set up (comes through nostrils on front end), Gearing on GT's is shorter more for accel, speedometer is 120 on the SE (140 or 150?) on the GT?... thats the only one's I know of... I'm sure these guys know more

To be on topic, the springs are no different.

Between all aspects of GT and SE- body molding, gearing, exhaust, ram-air, top speed limiter, rear discs on GT, different tails, stiffer sways on a GT, window trim chrome on SE... thats all I can think of.

well I talked to my cousin (a mechanic) and he said that I shouldn't need to replace the factory struts as of right now... He said if I notice that the ride is horrible or if I notice anything out of the normal then I should consider it... I guess I will just see what happens at first then just buy them later if I need... I do appreciate your alls input though... its something to consider

Copied and pasted from elsewhere on this site...
Difference between SE and GT:

GT has "Dual" exhaust
GT has a larger diameter exhaust pipe
GT has the Ram Air induction
GT has softer rear springs
GT has stiffer struts
GT has a thicker rear sway bar
GT has a lower final drive ratio
GT has different body cladding/bumpers
GT speedo goes up to 150 MPH, SE goes up to 120 MPH (In the USA Only)
GT has a higher fuel shutoff (126 MPH vrs. 105 or 112)
GT has different wheels and tires
GT1 has more options not availabe on SE(Depends on the year)
GT has rear discs, SE has drums
GT has different badges
SE has available 5-speed manual on I4 models (2000+ only)
GTs have body colored mirrors (depends on year).
GTs do not have chrome around the windows like a SE.
GT tail lights are different, SE's have black lines that run horizontal on them.
