Spotted a Sky!!!

Yep I saw a Saturn Sky driving home from the mall with my gf the other day. I noticed it out of the corner of my eye passing us at first, but I didn't really pay attention, and I thought it was a Solstice by the shape of it (It was dark out) But when we pulled up to a light and it was in front of us, I realized it was a Sky! It was black and really dirty thanks to lovely Michigan weather, so it was hard to get a good look at it. But we did pass it and I must say it is very impressive, much better than the Solstice. He had a manufacturers plate on, but still, I am surprised I saw one. I thought they were going into production in early 2006. Anyone know when they will be available?

They are based on the solstice platform so they are going to be made in delaware. They are going to beging producing them in the spring of next year.
Oh they are trying to put the supercharger or turbo on the solstice next year.

I've belonged to www.skyroadster.com for about a year now, and it's an awesome site.

They got tons of information on there. Previews, specs, projections, and little bits of insider information sprinkled everywhere.

April 06 is the projected launch date.

I love the sky. It could be the sleeper hit of the decade for GM, if people will be able to purchase them. And drive them home.

I am still waiting for GM to just shoot themselves in the foot. I have this terrible feeling in my gut that at the last second, they're going to pull the plug on this awesome project.

S2000s, and MX-5s are doing good, so GM could make some money back in this segment.

It would be the "normal" thing fo them to do lately. Lets see if bob can make it out alive on this one, if it got canceled, there would be some irate people.

Never, EVER underestimate the stupidity of highly overpaid, snobby, 'stopped havin' fun 40 years ago', old men.

There's about 6-7 people on GM's board that I'd like to choke the life out of. I'll start with the greasy bean counters and move on from there.

My next door neighbor is a crazy Ford loving bastard. (But you have to be crazy to love a Ford, so forgive the redundancy) even he said his jaw hit the floor when he saw the Sky concept.

It's got the formula to succeed where the Fiero left off. (Hopefully devoid of engine fires this time)

2 seats, 2 passengers, two doors, retractable soft top (with ideas of a removable hard top). Relatively lightweight, 5 spd, and a sticker price of less than 23K. Booyah!!!! Sky for teh win!!!

Yeah, seriously - its hard to get past the ol' days of ****ty saturns... but now with the Red Lines and the dead-sexy sky - who knows

Are you willing to forgive and forget and move forward with Saturn's new line?

I'm not plopping down any money for a Sky though, until they release the limited edition Sky Redline. Woot woot....
