thanks everyone. i NEVEr drive the car, and its even more rare to see my car on the road at night. plus, over 60% of the cars here have HID since most of the cars here are lexus, infiniti, BMW, mercedes. if they cant handle it then they shouldnt have it.

at least now i can see at night when driving. these pics were taken with black headlight housings, which absorb a lot of light.

thanks.

so i guess its a 12000K kit, rather than the 8300K kit that i originally stated. not sure the difference, but the box says both.

nobody noticed that i cant park? my car is on the line. i was in a hurry to park it since i was running open headers (not by choice). didnt want to wake the neighbors, or the entire city for that matter.

The HID kit is lookin' great on your car. Also, yeah its the 12000K kit.. I received it in that box originally with both placed with 8300k and 12000k but the seller had assured me it was indeed the 12000k kit.. and you could obviously tell when I received it that it was indeed brand new, never installed. Anyhow, it has the purple light output I was going for which would tell ya its the 12000k.. 8300k would give more of a bluish look and I wasn't going for that.

Anyhow, enjoy it - one of the pics shows alot of glare but it also is because of the angel on how you take them.. whereas, the other pictures look great!

way to much glare.. if those were in my rearview, id brake check ya.. and that color around here would get ya a ticket a block after you pulled out your driveway..

as for your 60% luxary comment.. your comparing drywall to lightbulbs... HID's in projectors is TOTALY differnt than hid's in a housing not intented for HID's.. the bulb size is different and not designed for it.. so you get megga glare.. yeah, its great you can see.. i guess id want to see the person that cant see cause he's blocking his eyes w/ his hands coming in your lane cause he cant see the road.. LOL...

w/ that color of a kit, your even losing output.. anything over 5000K and output is lost..

so open headers, and super purple glare... LOL..if there blind they'll hear ya comin, if there deaf, they'll see ya coming.. win win situation.. wish the po-po's around here would allow it.. your lucky!

honestly, i dont drive the car. ive got a daily driver, so i wasnt in a rush to fix the car, but im supposed to go in tomorrow to get the flex pipe fixed.

anyways...ill see how the locals and the popos like my headlights. i dont think itll be a problem.

oh and the glare is from the camera, not the lights. for some reason my camera never has done well with low light situations. when ik had unbody neons i had a similar glare in the night pics.

mess with the camera settings, i know how to make a camera get major glare out of the smallest of led's and make it take pictures of them with no glare at all. just gotta tweak it a bit, thats all.

and i personally would hit you with my grand am if i saw that crap, i hate asswipes that have bright headlights to that extreme, seriously its over the line imo. your purpose should be to improve safety, by giving you more vision while not ENDANGERING others by blinding them.

1) what makes you think i intended for it to be this bright? i never saw this kit in real life, and honestly, i know NOTHING about HIDs other than knowing that i wanted them.

2) um..its my car and ill do with it as i please. ive been told similar things from people about my sound system, how stupid it is for me to put that much $ into a grand am, but then if nobody else does it, that makes my car that much more unique, and it justifys all of my trophies.

youve gotta break the mold into order to stand out. isnt that what modding grand ams is all about? what happened to the group of grand am modders that were into standing out in the crowd?

standing out and endangering the safety of others are totally different things. i have no problem with dropping money into a grand am or standing out from the crowd, but if i personally bought something, installed it, and saw it was like this, i would uninstall it and sell it. even when i install sylvania bulbs on my car and realign the lights, i drive down the road with my brother coming at me to make sure its not a danger to other drivers.

maybe its because i work in a hospital and see what happens to people that are in car crashes that i take this just that much more seriously.

You're contradicting yourself.. it's pretty obvious with the glare (and from just about every other headlight picture here, because admit it, most people are morons when it comes to cameras) that they aren't actually that bright in person. Same for my HIDs... I could have taken a pic with a lot of glare or no glare, in person there's no glare.. So everyone, let me just say, if you judge the brightness of his headlights by those absolutely horrible pics (and they are some of the worst pics I've ever seen), you're wasting your time.

the purple... .. but that's another story

alright seth, ill give you the possibility that the cameraman doesnt know how to take a picture. but im awaiting better pictures to prove this.

well everyone is allowed their own opinion, and i respect that, but bashing my character because of three lousy pictures is just immature.

does anyone have anything POSITIVE to say? some of the people on here take all of the fun out of modding. (ill actually narrow it down to ajaxus since he seems to talk shat about everyones work.)
