eBay cold air intake (into side fender)

Okay,

I did some searching and found that most of you guys do not prefer the intakes sold on ebay. However, within the threads I searched, these were short ram intakes. I did find a 2 piece cold air intake on ebay that is quite a bit cheaper than Dr. Speeds. Would this be worth looking into?

meh, after shipping you're still paying over 80 bucks for a filter, two pieces of piping, and couplers.

dont go cheap on ebay, i did that to get one for my bro. we'll just say that i had to modify the pcv hose, and add a piece of pcv piping in the fender well to make it fit. which is gonna run you another $13 or so to do and alot of extra time.

buy one from a well known manufacturer before you buy on ebay for this. its not worth it.

I actually went with one on ebay....Works just fine and I didn't have any problems at all installing it. I bought it from some people on ebay who called themselves "Chrome Intakes" or something like that.

What "serious racer" would be using a N/A Grand Am as their car of choice? I mean.... absolutely no offence to the guys that are running low numbers N/A, but you can't say that this would be your first choice of a car if you were trying to be a "serious racer".

you do realise that some people buy these and give feeback before its installed?

issues with mine were..it didnt extend far enough into the fender well for the k&n to fit on and behind the lining. the hole for the pcv hose was cut too far from the hose so i have to ghetto rig it to fit. and because he likes that cheap iat "chip" or whatever they're called (which i said i DID NOT want when i bought it) there isnt a hole drilled for the iat.

not to mention it took him well over a month to get it shipped to me and didnt bother helping with things, just kept making excuses.

all i do know is that i had to go buy more crap from the store and im still in the process of modifying the cai i bought from him to fit.

maybe i got a bad egg, but last time i checked all of the reputable manufacturers hadn't made a bad egg yet.
