well looks like i'm gonna be the first to post. Umm, nice car, but i dont like Gay6's (u should have kept your GA IMO, but it's your money, your time, your car and your life.) so Best wishes to you, and mod that thing so i cant tell it's a G6, then i'll really love it.

I like the G6 it has sooo much stuff my grand am didn't have. Like heated leather seats, remote start, onstar, side airbags, manual shift mode, extra electrical outlet, lights in the visor mirrors, silver trim interior, adjustable brake and gas pedal, 6 disc cd changer, temp display, lots of other little things. I always hated the looks of the G6 but as soon as I test drove one I fell in love instantly ha! If my grand am didn't have so many problems I would still be driving it since I had it close to being paid off when I traded it in.

Traingeek,

Youll like G6's a LOT as soon as stuff starts breaking on your grand am. It will happen. They arent that great of cars. I have a GP, and its not that great either. Its all in what youre comparing em too.

See Dave, I have been telling people the GP is crap....that's why I hate mine (well, soon to be mine, just gotta walk down the aisle)!!

And sorry, but the G6GTP Coupe is focking ugly. It looks like a small animal that had it's ass shaved off. Nothing sporty or tough looking about it. I like the Sedan though, especially if it had a small drop to it. The coupe, it just looks completely assymetrical in design.

I would say the G6 GTP is an excellent car. Yes, it is a step behind the imports, but it is a great effort by GM. This car has a bunch more performance potential than the GA ,some of which I will be tapping into very soon.

hey the car looks good. maybe not my taste, but who am i to talk, i couldnt afford one even if i did want one. The fact is that the G6 is much more refined than the GA, so much that it kinda makes sense about the name change. either way, good luck in the modding and have fun...thats what its all about.

I gotta say I agree. I bought one for a daily driver thinking it would be a nice dependable car since I keep hearing how great they are. Only drove it for 5000 miles (it's got 133,000 on it now) and the transmission went on it, so I had to buy a whole new tranny. Plus it was leaking oil about 1 quart every 4 months and burning coolant, so I'm replacing the oil pan and gasket and all the top end gaskets too. I've been cleaning the engine for two days because of all the oil and dirt all over it.

So I bought the car for $4k and spent another $1K for maintenance after I bought it because the previous owner was a woman and the car was trashed. Then 7 months later I'm dropping another $2500 in parts for it. Not my idea of a great dependable car.

Bob, agreed. I just like it better than what I had. I know there are plleennntttyyy of better cars out there. This is what I try telling lots of people who dump ridiculous amounts of cash into their grand am's thinking they are just the ****. Save up and invest in a better car, plain and simple.
